The Opportunity
CACI is seeking a Part‑Time Systems Engineer to join our team in Fort Meade, Maryland. Responsibilities
In this role, you will apply your Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) background to help guide, shape, and deliver advanced technical solutions. You will:
Manage and interpret system and derived requirements to ensure systems align with the customer’s architecture, including DoDAF and SOA frameworks.
Support development and allocation of functional and system requirements across hardware, software, facility, and personnel components.
Coordinate cross‑discipline technical actions emerging from CCBs, design reviews, program reviews, and test activities.
Collaborate within Integrated Product Teams to design new capabilities, considering operational, developmental, and mission needs.
Allocate real‑time process and error budgets to systems and subsystems.
Develop alternative concepts, architectures, and design approaches that optimize performance and mission value.
Define evaluation methods, processes, and criteria to verify system and subsystem compliance through formal written plans.
Create system design solutions that meet requirements and support functional analysis.
Provide input to program documentation including WBS elements, work packages, and integrated master plans.
Contribute to engineering documentation such as System Engineering Plans, Requirements Specifications, and Interface Control Documents.
Support interface definition and configuration management throughout the system lifecycle.
Translate stakeholder needs into actionable system functions and derive lower‑level requirements that are complete, clear, verifiable, and traceable.
Participate in establishing approved baselines for requirements, designs, interfaces, and test procedures.
Develop derived requirements focused on Information Assurance—including confidentiality, integrity, non‑repudiation, availability, authentication, access control, accountability, and key security mechanisms.
Qualifications:
Required:
TS/SCI clearance with polygraph
20 years of relevant experience (or 25 years with no bachelor’s degree).
Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
Experience planning and leading Systems Engineering efforts
Experience supporting DoD or national security programs
Familiarity with DoDAF, SOA, and SETA methodologies
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in cross‑functional teams
Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable engineering guidance

Pay Range
There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:
$131,800 - $290,000
