Presently, we are on the lookout for a Contract Spacecraft Systems Engineer to augment our dynamic team, seeking an individual with hands-on experience poised to make immediate and impactful contributions to our ongoing projects.

You will become part of a dynamic and innovative group dedicated to pushing the boundaries of space technology. Your responsibilities will include helping lead the development of spacecraft mission and system design. You will also perform mission analysis, model spacecraft missions, conduct trade-offs, and control platform systems budgets. Additionally, you will contribute to rapid feasibility studies, assist with bid work by providing technical solutions and documentation, and maintain configuration control of systems work and documentation.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development of spacecraft mission and system design, encompassing requirements derivation and definition of concept of operations.
  • Conduct mission analysis and model spacecraft missions to ensure optimal performance.
  • Create comprehensive mission-level test and verification plans.
  • Conduct rapid feasibility studies exploring various scenarios and architectures.
  • Support bid efforts by offering technical solutions and preparing relevant documentation.

Essential Skills:

  • Diploma, bachelor, or master’s degree in systems engineering, electrical engineering, or another relevant discipline.
  • Proven commercial experience in a Systems Engineering role focussed on satellite platform architecture.
  • Proficiency in the systems and project engineering lifecycle, with hands-on experience in project review gates within satellite engineering (SRR, PDR, CDR, etc.).
  • Good knowledge of various subsystems and engineering teams, including astrodynamics, propulsion, communications, software, ground segment & operations.
  • Track record in developing systems engineering documentation.
  • Awareness of the AIT process, covering manufacturing, assembly, functional and environmental testing.

Desired Skills:

  • Familiarity with or experience in other project-related areas such as project management, procurement, bid support, and manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in commonly used engineering and modelling packages and/or coding and scripting languages applicable to real-world engineering applications.
