An experienced systems engineering professional, leading technical abilities, demonstrating breadth and depth of knowledge of engineering standard methodologies! As a key member of the team who is an expert in their technical specialism, you deliver system solutions for colleagues and engineering of high quality promptly as well as provide shared support services for our domain applications as support engineer.

You will be responsible for
  • Act as a subject matter expert in specified area, influence direction of our work, identify dependencies and risks and effectively mitigate them.
  • Maintain strong understanding of implemented features and how they align to the broader roadmap.
  • Supporting live environment and applications
  • Can troubleshoot failures, determine root causes, and make any escalations as appropriate. 
  • Effectively manage major incidents, ensuring stakeholders are updated with the right information to drive the correct decisions
  • Continuously improve support processes and methods, enhance team application knowledge via cooperation with other team members, incl. mentoring and constructive        feedback.
  • Contributing to post incident analysis
  • Being On-call support 7x24 - 1 week / month -extra compensation
  • Open for Cross-functional training on domain specifics about Fulfilment/Distribution services
  • Building and maintaining infrastructure in on-premises VMware data centres as well as in Azure 
  • Automation (Linux OS patching etc.)
  • System admin on servers - Windows and Linux OS.
  • Understand TESCO technology standards, follow them, identify weak points, and participate on gaps resolution.

EXPERIENCE RELEVANT FOR THE JOB

  • Work as a technical specialist providing day to day support to business or other technical colleagues.
  • Essential knowledge of Linux like operating systems principles and user level experience with work in prompt.
  • Building queries for relational databases like Oracle or Microsoft SQL. 
  • Ability to understand code (shell script, C programming language, etc.), ability to write simple functional scripts in some programming language. 
  • Follow Service Management principles, especially incident and problem management. Follow Security practices defined by company.
  • Communication with end users and technical teams across the globe.
  • Written and spoken English on B2 level.
  • Being part of team who follows agile methodology and OpsDev principles for Programme/project management and day to day support (optional).
