Position: Systems Engineer I

Nature of Role: The Systems Engineer will support the Platform Systems Engineering team in the development, integration, testing, and sustainment of submarine systems. This role involves working across the full systems engineering lifecycle, including requirements development, test planning and execution, and post-delivery support. The ideal candidate will contribute to ensuring system performance, reliability, and mission readiness across multiple submarine classes.

Responsibilities:

include but are not limited to:

  • Support the development and analysis of sonar system requirements and specifications
  • Contribute to the development, review, and execution of test programs, including PVT development and test automation
  • Perform requirement mapping, verification, and validation activities to ensure system compliance
  • Assist in prioritizing, tracking, and resolving system defects and emergent technical issues
  • Provide post-delivery engineering support, including troubleshooting issues identified through CASREPs, rider reports, and naval messages
  • Support the review and evaluation of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) products
  • Provide Technical Design Agent (TDA) Lead Systems Engineering support across all submarine classes
  • Assist in planning cycle activities for current system increments and upgrades

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field
  • Experience with systems engineering processes, including requirements development, testing, and validation
  • Familiarity with submarine systems, sonar systems, or defense-related programs preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Department of Defense Secret Security Clearance or higher is required at time of hire.
