Job Description

deciBel Research has an immediate opening for a Systems Engineer in Huntsville, AL.

The selected System Engineer's responsibilities will include the support of the Ground Weapons System (GWS) program as an individual contributor on the HWE environmental team. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance of the GWS system design with hardware requirements, through equipment evaluation and design guidance and analysis products. This role directly supports the design and development of the GWS capability on behalf of the Missile Defense Agency (MDA).

Education Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university

Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of experience with bachelor's in science.
  • 4 years of recent experience using a 3D CAD Package such as SolidWorks, CREO, or NX
  • Experience drafting & reviewing 2D mechanical drawings per ASME standards.
  • Prior experience with engineering PLM systems such as Teamcenter and MRP system such as SAP
  • Familiarity with MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-1366, MIL-STD-1472, ASME Y14.5, ASME Y14.100, MIL-STD-31000, MIL-STD-461
  • Experience evaluating commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) and military parts for compliance to meet requirements

Special Skills Desired:

  • Possess good communication skills
  • Demonstrate ability to think critically and capture concepts in work products, presentations, and discussions
  • Capable of working both independently and within a team environment
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% of the time
  • Recent experience leading a small team, including task and schedule planning, to meet major project milestone objectives
  • Mentoring and cross-training junior engineers in analysis work, reviews, and approving their analysis results to meet customer requirements
  • Recent experience generating engineering documentation including technical drawings, specifications, technical reports, test procedures, program procedures, and CDRLS
  • Prior experience with the design, test, and/or integration and deployment of mechanical and structural components, systems, or subsystems
