Get to know your new team and manager

You will report to Shailesh Patil, Manager of Systems Engineering, and become part of an international team of skilled systems engineers working closely with software, electronics, mechanics, test, usability, regulatory, and product management specialists. The R&D team includes about 100 professionals specializing in systems engineering, mechanics, electronics, and software, with locations in Denmark, Poland and Malaysia.

The Systems Engineering department supports several Diagnostics brands and contributes to the development of hearing diagnostics and balance assessment solutions. You will be joining a collaborative environment where knowledge sharing, professional development, and teamwork are central to how we work.

The position can be based at our Interacoustics headquarters in Middelfart or our Maico headquarters in Berlin, with flexibility to work from home when tasks allow.

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Systems Engineer to ensure that system-level requirements, system architecture are properly defined, managed & documented, throughout the project lifecycle and specialize in system verification planning, ensuring that all system components are thoroughly tested and meet quality standards. This role is critical for defining the boundary conditions and constraints in early stages of project development through well-determined systems requirements and architecture.

Drive systems engineering across the product lifecycle

As a Systems Engineer, you will help ensure that our products are built on a solid systems foundation, from understanding user and stakeholder needs through to verification and release. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to translate complex requirements into robust technical solutions and ensure that system-level decisions support product quality, compliance, and performance throughout the product and project lifecycles.

Your key responsibilities will amongst others be to:

  • analyze user & stakeholder needs and flow down them to elicit, define & manage system requirements.
  • define, develop and maintain system level architectural design for diagnostics device and solution platforms in collaboration with cross functional teams.
  • develop and maintain requirements traceability matrices from requirements to test evidence and ensure requirements are testable, verifiable, and aligned with project objectives, collaborate with the test planning engineer to ensure requirements are adequately covered in test plans.
  • participate in design reviews and provide input on system requirements, architecture feasibility, and risk assessment.
  • develop comprehensive system level test plans and test cases based on system requirements

An experienced systems engineer from a regulated industry

To succeed in this role, you combine systems engineering expertise with a structured and analytical mindset or equivalent. You are comfortable navigating technical complexity, engaging multiple stakeholders, and working in environments where quality, documentation, and compliance are critical.

We imagine that you have:

  • experience in product development with in-depth knowledge of system level requirements and verification management or similar relevant experiences
  • experience in defining product or solution level architecture views (e.g., functional, physical and operational architecture)
  • navigated in a regulated industry (e.g., medical devices, aerospace, automotive) is an advantage as there is overlapping regulatory requirements
  • experience in working with ALM tools like IBM DOORS, Polarion or equivalent
  • exposure to product platform development or product line engineering is preferred, but not mandatory
  • exposure to model-based systems engineering applications using SysML is preferred
  • skilled in problem-solving with an innovative mindset 
  • having good stakeholder management skills and able to effectively communicate with a cross-functional team
