Summary

This position’s responsibility, under general direction, is to assist in designing major sections of the enterprise client management environment including back-end management functions and unifying client management processes and practice across the district. This position differs from others in its class by the complexity of system and applications/scope on which it works and the amount of guidance it requires.

Function as part of a cohesive client management team including actively sharing ideas, participating in meetings, staying current with applicable technology developments and trends, cross-training with other team members, and thinking creatively.

A technical test may be administered at our JSCEE office.

Examples of duties

25%

  • Plans and implements software/hardware and network systems to facilitate efficient management of client systems including Windows, Mac, iOS, and others with a focus on increasing proactivity, automation, and efficiency.

10%

  • Plan and implement standard client management processes to be used across the whole district.

  • Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and solutions for more complex and larger scale client technical issues or problems.

25%

  • Perform client management tasks such as configuring and sustaining client, management systems, automation, application packaging, optimizing, computer policy editing, patch management, login scripts, and software distribution.

20%

  • Work on individual and team projects, including organizing or leading projects as assigned.

5%

  • Document and communicate changes, solutions, and progress effectively to field support, Tech Line, team members, and other relevant parties

4%

  • Provide direction, guidance, resources, and training for field support and others about client management processes.

  • Maintain documentation of configurations and other items as appropriate.

  • Extensive knowledge of scripting languages. Primarily Powershell, VBS, KIX, UNIX Shell

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:

Two (2) to four (4) years of related technical experience required; demonstrated experience showing a high level of technical skills and problem solving; one (1) year of client management related experience is preferred; Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field or completion of equivalent training; equivalent work experience may substitute for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Any equivalent combination of education, experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the work will be considered.
