Greenfield is looking for an Systems Engineer to join our growing team.

The Systems Engineer is accountable for the technical health, reliability, security, recoverability, and ongoing evolution of assigned enterprise platforms and services. The role leads the research, analysis, selection, design, planning, implementation, and lifecycle management of complex infrastructure solutions, ranging from software and service stacks to enterprise-wide datacentre deployments, migrations, and cloud integrations.

Operating with a high degree of autonomy, the Systems Engineer works through ambiguous and cross-platform problems without waiting for detailed direction, makes risk-based technical decisions, and designs solutions that are secure, resilient, maintainable, supportable, and cost-conscious, not merely functional. The role leads major incidents and complex changes, clearly communicates technical options and risks, constructively influences colleagues, vendors, and business stakeholders. Through technical mentoring, documentation, automation, and continuous improvement, the Systems Engineer raises the capability of the broader team and the quality of Greenfield Global's technology services.

Skills and Qualifications:

• 5+ years of work experience in operations and infrastructure
• 2+ years of owning and implementing solutions in VMWare 8.0 or above
• 2+ years of experience working in public cloud, M365 and similar technologies
• Experience executing complex projects and deliverables
• Extensive knowledge and experience with enterprise hardware stacks (i.e. Cisco UCS, SANs, ISCSI networks)
• Experience with backup platforms, methodologies and validation techniques
• Strong knowledge maintaining Active Directory domains and Entra ID environments
• Solid knowledge of networking technologies and concepts
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

Nice to Have:

• Hands-on experience with Open-Source platforms (Proxies, HA, Web services, Monitoring tools)
• Experience with DevOps (ADO) methodologies
• Experience with MDM platforms (Intune preferred)

Job Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with Operations team members and the wider IT Dept to offer solutions to business needs
• Independently resolve complex, ambiguous, and cross-platform problems through root-cause analysis.
• Identify and research high-value improvements to physical and virtual infrastructure
• Implement and maintain VMWare, Active Directory, SANs and other components that support a on-premises enterprise environment
• Work with the IT Dept and business to develop and maintain backup and recovery strategies
• Implement, maintain and tune monitoring tools to provide validated alerts when needed and limit alert storms and fatigue
• Develop methods to facilitate non-disruptive update and upgrade paths for enterprise systems
• Ability to automate where possible using various tools (Scripting, power automate/logic apps, Azure functions)
• Stay current and knowledgeable of new technologies and process within enterprise IT and manufacturing spaces
• Exceptional communicator who can collaborate with stakeholders to gather and understand business related needs
• Maintain accurate architecture, configuration, recovery, implementation, and support documentation
• Troubleshoot and support escalations and incidents
• Following Information Technology policies and industry best practices
• Other duties as assigned

Total Compensation & Care:

• Base salary dependent on experience and demonstrated performance – $115,000–$130,000
