Agile Decision Sciences LLC is seeking a Systems Engineer to provide systems engineering, technical coordination, and analytical support for NASA's Space Communications and Navigation (SCaN) Program. The role supports major development activities across the SCaN Capability Development Division, helping transition new technologies and capabilities into operational networks that span multiple NASA centers and international partners. Responsibilities shift throughout the year depending on program needs, ranging from detailed engineering review to broader program planning and issue management.
Work Arrangement: This position is anticipated to be onsite at NASA HQ in Washington, DC or NASA GSFC in Greenbelt, MD depending on customer needs. It is anticipated to be hybrid requiring three days a week onsite.
Responsibilities:
• Support planning, scheduling, and coordination for major program and project reviews.
• Coordinate meetings, capture and distribute meeting minutes, maintain action item tracking, and follow up with stakeholders.
• Monitor program actions, decisions, risks, commitments, and emerging issues across the SCaN portfolio.
• Meet with program decision-makers to review project status and identify required engagement with NASA Centers and Headquarters organizations.
• Represent program leadership during meetings when managers are unavailable and provide concise summaries of key outcomes and decisions.
• Review technical documentation and programmatic discussions to ensure alignment with overall program execution strategies.
• Perform rapid analyses and decision-support activities, including issue identification, options analysis, and impact assessments.
• Develop, edit, and maintain presentations, reports, spreadsheets, and other communication products supporting technical development activities.
• Consolidate technical input from multiple stakeholders into clear, consistent messaging for leadership.
• Organize and maintain program documentation within centralized repositories.
• Coordinate deliverables and milestone activities with NASA Centers, project teams, and SCaN Headquarters personnel.
• Apply Agile principles and lightweight project management practices where appropriate.
• Standardize project inputs and develop tools to improve tracking, coordination, and reporting.
• Prepare leadership for technical reviews, program reviews, and site visits.
• Serve as an integration point across project teams, NASA Centers, Headquarters organizations, and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication and feedback.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline
• Minimum of 4 years of relevant professional experience.
• Experience with satellite systems, space communications, or communications architecture.
• Engineering background with experience supporting project management activities, including schedule, cost, and technical execution.
• Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to independently identify risks, issues, opportunities, and trends affecting program performance.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance.
• Willingness to travel occasionally as required.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with NASA programs or familiarity with NASA processes and organizations.
• Experience supporting large, complex engineering or aerospace development programs.
