MANTECH seeks a motivated, career- and customer-oriented Systems Engineer to join our team in King George, VA. This is an onsite position.
This role focuses on the Test and Evaluation (T&E) of the Aegis Training Systems element, providing technical and engineering support for the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD).
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Assist in reviewing system requirements to create and revise T&E plans. Develop and update Combat System Test Plans, Procedures, automation scripts, and evaluation criteria
Execute Government-approved test procedures for computer programs at Land-Based Test Sites (LBTS) and aboard ships. Perform installation checkouts and support Test Bed Validation (TBV) activities. Operate Training Systems and training operations at LBTS
Assess training configurations and associated AWS and Non-AWS interfaces
Conduct detailed analysis of test data to identify system limitations and assess mission capabilities. Compile metrics, document Trouble Reports (TRs), and generate Daily Test Reports (DTRs)
Evaluate Computer Program Change Requests (CPCRs) and Test Observation Reports (TORs) to determine root causes, operational impacts, and baseline applicability
Identify and maintain automated test execution and data analysis tools to improve T&E efficiency
Attend milestone meetings, including Test Readiness Reviews (TRR) and Mission Readiness Assessments (MRA), and provide data for technical presentations
Ability to travel up to 25% within the continental United States (CONUS) per customer needs
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma with 8+ years of Naval technician experience, or equivalent technician experience
4+ years of experience in Combat Systems Engineering; including the engineering, design, development, or T&E of a Navy combat system (defined as a system capable of detecting, tracking, identifying, engaging, and dispatching hostile targets)
2+ years of experience in one or more of the following areas: test requirements definition, test plan/procedures development, maintenance, and execution, test data reduction, automation, and analysis, computer program performance analysis and reporting
4+ years of experience with developmental or operational Systems or Computer Program versions, specifically regarding real-time Naval tactical programs
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with the Aegis Combat or Weapons Systems as well as interfacing sensors and ship systems
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Self-motivated and capable of working independently without direct supervision
Clearance Requirements:
Must have an active and current Secret security clearance.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to remain stationary for 50% of the time.
Must frequently move within shipboard or test lab environments to support troubleshooting and communications.
