Job Description

About QuantX Labs

QuantX Labs is an emerging, world-leading deep-tech product company working across the Space, Defence and Commercial sectors.

As part of a small, high-performing team, you will have the opportunity to contribute directly to significant and globally relevant programs, supporting sovereign capability and the development of technologies that matter on a global stage.

This is a rare opportunity to work with cutting-edge quantum and precision measurement technologies, from concept through to product development, industrialisation, deployment and customer delivery.

About the Role

We are seeking Systems Engineers at multiple levels to join our growing Engineering team.

This role plays a key part in the development and production of QuantX Labs products. Working within a multidisciplinary environment, you will lead and support systems engineering activities across the product lifecycle, ensuring system functions, interfaces and performance requirements are effectively defined, delivered, verified and validated.

Depending on your level of experience, you may contribute to or lead work across requirements, architecture, integration, verification and validation, technical documentation, risk management, configuration control and technical reviews.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Apply systems engineering principles across the full lifecycle of QuantX Labs products
  • Work with stakeholders to elicit, analyse, derive and capture system and sub-system requirements
  • Contribute to system architecture development
  • Analyse system performance data and identify improvements for efficiency, reliability and cost-effectiveness
  • Work closely with physics, software, electronics, mechanical and production teams to support cohesive system design
  • Lead and support trade studies, design decisions and technology selection
  • Define and execute verification and validation activities
  • Manage product requirements, verification plans and validation plans
  • Manage complex product interfaces and interface control documentation
  • Support integration of system components and resolve issues across system elements
  • Identify technical risks and contribute to mitigation strategies
  • Establish and maintain configuration control and system baselines
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation
  • Provide technical leadership across systems lifecycle reviews
  • Support project execution, business activities, customer success and team development

About You

You will bring a strong technical foundation and a practical, collaborative approach to solving complex systems problems.

You may be an experienced systems engineer, or you may come from a related technical background such as engineering, physics, software, electronics, mechanical systems, product development or production, with a strong interest in systems engineering.

You will ideally bring:

  • Understanding of systems engineering principles across the full lifecycle
  • Ability to analyse complex systems and understand interactions between hardware, software, firmware and operational elements
  • Experience working cross-functionally with technical teams
  • Exposure to requirements, design and test management tools such as Flow, PDM/PLM, Epsilon3 or similar
  • Technical experience in product development, industrialisation, analysis or production
  • Strong attention to detail, accountability and professional integrity
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Strong planning, prioritisation and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong written communication skills for technical documentation
  • Commitment to quality, safety and continuous improvement

Highly Regarded

  • Space systems experience
  • Knowledge of product safety, security and assurance
  • Systems Engineering Certification, such as INCOSE
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science or a related field
  • Deeper technical experience in an area such as mechanical, electrical, physics or software

Why Join QuantX Labs?

At QuantX Labs, your work will directly contribute to advanced products used by global customers at the forefront of innovation. You will work alongside internationally recognised experts and contribute to technologies with real-world impact across space, defence and commercial applications.
