Systems Engineer

By harnessing the power of high-performance computing, our client enables engineering teams to run their CI pipelines up to 2x faster at half the cost of traditional solutions. With a small, dedicated team, every engineer plays a crucial role in shaping the core product and infrastructure.

What You Will Do

• Design, build, and maintain the low-level systems that drive a high-performance CI execution platform.
• Write performance-critical systems code in Go, Rust, or C/C++ to enhance throughput, latency, and resource utilization across CI workloads.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure automation using tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef for scalable configuration management.
• Collaborate closely with a small engineering team to architect and iterate on essential platform components.
• Identify and resolve systems-level bottlenecks, ensuring reliability and performance across the infrastructure.
• Contribute to SRE and DevOps practices, including monitoring, incident response, and on-call rotations.
• Help define and enforce engineering standards focused on infrastructure reliability, security, and observability.

Ideal Candidate Background

• 2–10 years of hands-on experience in systems engineering, infrastructure engineering, DevOps, or site reliability engineering.
• Strong proficiency in one or more of the following languages: Go, Rust, C, or C++.
• Practical experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
• Deep understanding of Linux systems internals, networking, and compute resource management.
• Proven ability to optimize systems for latency, throughput, and reliability.

Preferred

• Experience building or scaling distributed systems, databases, or infrastructure services.
• Familiarity with performance profiling and debugging at the systems level.
• Previous experience in high-growth startups or strong engineering organizations.

Compensation and Benefits

The base salary for this role is between $200,000 and $300,000, depending on experience and skill set. Enjoy a hybrid work model based in New York, offering flexibility and a dynamic work environment.
