The Systems Design Engineer, Basic Vehicle performs overall systems design and integration of various sub-systems e.g. Powertrain, brakes, suspension, steering, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical etc., onto the basic vehicle. He/She engages with customers to understand their needs and contractual requirements. He/She leads a team of engineers from different specialties and interfaces with departments like manufacturing, quality assurance, and procurement to complete their tasks.
Prepare system requirements specifications
Develop system architecture and configure systems layout
Perform system sizing and selection
Perform technical assessment and software simulation of systems performance
Perform interface control management
Manage prototype build and integration
Perform verification of system requirements
Conduct system functional and reliability tests
Compile and document test results
Prepare review document and conduct design review with customers
Prepare and maintain BOM for production
Prepare design records
Prepare final product specifications
Maintain documentation for audit reference
Provide product support and resolution of technical issues
Requirements:
Degree in Engineering
Experience in systems engineering practices
Knowledge of Siemens Teamcenter PLM & NX will be advantageous
Application knowledge of vehicular systems
Experience in performing vehicle conversion or integration of systems onto vehicle chassis
Good leadership, organisational, interpersonal and communication skills
Team player with a positive, problem-solving attitude and drive to learn new things
Meticulous, with strong attention to detail and a proactive attitude
Innovative, with the ability to think creatively and propose new ideas
Possesses strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
