JOB OVERVIEW:

The Systems Business Analyst manages a range of activities including providing level one application support, support for the audit function and facilitating the implementation of changes for which the business requires new or amended system support.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Operational Support:

• Investigate and analyze application-related problems, identify root causes, and implement appropriate solutions or workarounds where possible.
• Categorize, document and track issues using a the Manage Engine ticketing system.
• Provide level one technical support and troubleshooting assistance for various applications used within the organization.
• Escalate queries that require development work to a developer.
• Act as the liaison between the Business Units and IT development team for queries that require development work.
• Ensure timely resolution of issues within defined service level agreements (SLAs).

1. Facilitation of Change Request Process:

• Facilitate and administer the change request process to ensure that such specifications achieve an efficient execution of business processes:
• Participate in change management activities by reviewing and assessing the impact of proposed changes to applications.
• Act as the liaison between the Business Units and IT development teams in relation to the implementation of changes which includes coordinating with development teams and stakeholders to plan and implement changes while minimizing disruption to users.
• Assist with the completion of Business Requirements for requested changes.
• Manage all testing activities to ensure solutions are qualified, including identification of the test team, ensuring that the schedules, plan documentation, preparation and review of test scripts and prep of the test environment are completed accurately.
• Follow-up and support the post deployment of system changes, including working with IT to validate the appropriateness of the solutions.

1. Continuous Improvement:

• Identify opportunities to enhance application support processes and improve overall system performance.
• Proactively monitor applications, analyze trends, and recommend preventive measures to minimize future incidents and optimize application performance.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• A First Degree in Computer Science or Information Science or a related field from a recognized tertiary level educational institution.
• 5 C.X.C. / CSEC passes including Mathematics and English Language.
• 3 A’ Level/ CAPE passes.
• LOMA 280, 290, ACS 100 and all related parts

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT:

As a regulated entity with obligations under the Know Your Employee guidelines, a Certificate of Character is required.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

The Systems Business Analyst must possess superior problem solving and analytical skills. He/ She must be able to work under minimum supervision and should possess the ability to manage tasks effectively while meeting deadlines. He/ She must be highly motivated with strong work ethics and an excellent team spirit. Excellent interpersonal and communication should be inherent as the incumbent will be expected to interact with staff at all levels.
