Job Description

This role is a key leadership position within the Product Management function and is part of the Pivot to Value (P2V) Systems Architecture team. It supports broader Gas Power priorities such as safety, quality, delivery, cost, and capacity.

As a Systems Architect, you will turn business and technical requirements from teams such as Engineering, Supply Chain, and suppliers into clear, practical system and module designs. You will assess how products and plant modules can be configured, standardized, or improved to deliver better quality, lower cost, and stronger overall performance.

This role also helps guide important business decisions related to make/buy, do/buy, and re-use strategies at the system or module level. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the best decisions are made for both the business and the customer.

The Systems Architect – Services role specifically focuses on identifying and driving Pivot to Value initiatives across the services organization throughout the ITO/OTR cycle, creating value for both internal and external customers across the product lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and manage productivity initiatives from beginning to end by reviewing project requirements, setting up project resources, developing and executing against cost estimates, establishing project risk analysis and mitigation strategies, and owning performance relative to fulfillment and long-term sustainability.
  • Serve as P2V interface with global services organization and functional teams, communicating with services productivity team, regional P&Ls, services engineering and other functional teams across Gas Power that contributes to services planning and fulfilment.
  • Own a set of modules/systems throughout their lifecycle from definition to fulfillment to servicing to end of life
  • Define modules/systems across the combined cycle power plant, each module’s function, requirements, parameters (e.g., start and end points), configurability, and interfaces leading to value generating decisions at the plant level
  • Translates Product and Stakeholder functional requirements into module/ system requirements that are clear, unambiguous and generate customer value...focusing on configurability at the modular level
  • Define make/buy, do/buy, re-use strategy per module/system, assess supplier panel in the market, ensure supply contracts and specifications are structured and optimized to meet the module/system requirements that include fulfillment strategy, quality, cost, and lead-time
  • Specify, manage and document interface definitions and control between modules/systems to achieve lowest installed and/or lifecycle cost and allows each design and fulfilment team (internal and external partner(s)) to work independently and integrate work
  • Leads and/or participates in the verification/validation of designs from engineering teams and/or suppliers
  • Develops fulfilment strategies in collaboration with Materials Management team to optimize warehousing and the need to stock parts
  • Work with internal stakeholders to develop and/or improve field processes and methods for improved safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Analyze large data sets across multiple sources and utilize the same to generate new insights and ideas to execute

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college, or diploma with relevant experience
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in engineering, services, sourcing, technical/operating disciplines etc or relevant functions
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a field related to power plant industry or in CPM/CSL roles
  • This role requires around 10% travel
  • Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal

  • Understands the technical nuances and complex interrelationships within a specified system
  • Translate functional requirements to modular system requirements & ability to define fulfilment strategy for modular system components and manage 3rd party relationships
  • Technical competency across systems, manufacturing, field services, and process
