Manager, Systems and Database Engineering | Remote (US) | $145,000-$172,000

We are conducting a search for a Manager of Systems and Database Engineering on behalf of a private university in California. This is a fully remote role requiring availability during Pacific Time business hours.

The organization runs a complex Oracle Database and ERP environment on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. The Manager owns system stability, security, performance, and compliance across this environment and leads a team of two senior infrastructure professionals.

What the role requires:

• 5+ years of Oracle Database administration experience in a mission-critical enterprise environment
• Hands-on OCI experience: tenancy design, IAM, VCNs, Base Database Service, monitoring, disaster recovery
• Oracle ERP infrastructure experience at the database or middleware tier (PeopleSoft or E-Business Suite backgrounds considered)
• Active Terraform experience for provisioning and maintaining OCI resources
• Ansible and/or Python scripting for automation
• Direct people management experience with full ownership of direct reports

Preferred but not required: higher education IT experience, OCI professional certifications, and experience with PeopleSoft Cloud Manager or Deployment Packages.
