Join our IT team at Thermo Fisher Scientific and contribute to technological innovation that enables our customers to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer. As a Systems Analyst II, you'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement, maintain, and optimize critical business systems. You'll leverage your technical expertise and analytical skills to gather requirements, design solutions, and ensure smooth operations of enterprise applications.
Work closely with business partners to understand needs, document requirements, and translate them into effective technical solutions. Lead the configuration, testing, and deployment of system enhancements while ensuring compliance with corporate standards. Provide technical guidance to resolve complex issues and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Your work will directly impact our ability to serve customers and advance scientific discovery.
Key Responsibilities
Gather, analyze, and document business and system requirements
Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into functional specifications
Support and enhance enterprise systems such as SAP (SD – OTC), ServiceNow, Oracle, or similar platforms
Participate in the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including testing and deployment
Configure, test, and deploy system changes to production environments
Develop functional specifications and scenario-based test scripts
Maintain detailed process and system documentation
Handle incidents and provide effective problem resolution in a timely manner
Assist in project planning, tracking, and execution using Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid methodologies
Ensure compliance with IT service management (ITSM) and change management processes
Identify process improvement opportunities and recommend solutions
Provide technical guidance and mentor junior team members where applicable
Manage multiple projects and priorities effectively
Support business operations, including occasional off-hours support when required
Required Qualifications
Advanced Degree with no prior experience OR Bachelor’s Degree with 2+ years of experience in:
Systems Analysis
Business Analysis
SAP Functional / IT roles
Hands-on experience in SAP SD – Order-to-Cash (OTC) process, including:
At least one end-to-end implementation
Configuration, testing, and production deployment
Strong understanding of:
Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
Project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall)
Proven experience in:
Writing functional specifications
Creating scenario-based test scripts
Incident handling and problem-solving
