Help our partners connect seamlessly to one of South Africa’s fastest-growing payment platforms

We’re growing our Capitec Pay capability and we’re looking for a Systems Analyst to help us support and scale how external partners integrate with our products. This role exists to ensure our partners can confidently adopt our payment solutions by providing clear technical guidance, strong analysis, and hands-on support throughout the integration journey.

What you’ll do

  • Guide external partners through the integration process, helping them successfully connect to our payment solutions
  • Work closely with our development teams to understand new features and translate them into clear, usable guidance for partners
  • Act as the first point of contact for integration queries, troubleshooting issues and escalating where needed
  • Create and maintain clear documentation, process flows and integration guides
  • Analyse transaction data and identify patterns or risks to support decision-making
  • Support continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance integration processes and partner experience

  • We’re part of our Capitec Pay environment, focused on enabling secure and scalable integrations with external partners. Our work supports a growing suite of payment products, including once-off, recurring and variable payments.

What we’re looking for

  • Experience working as a Systems Analyst or in a similar technical role
  • Solid understanding of APIs and integration concepts
  • Exposure to tools such as Postman or similar API testing tools
  • Ability to read and interpret technical information (including basic code or API documentation)
  • Strong analytical thinking and ability to work with data
  • Experience creating process flows, diagrams or technical documentation
  • Comfortable working with external stakeholders and explaining technical concepts clearly
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS or Azure) is beneficial
  • A proactive approach with a willingness to take ownership and support others
  • Work with data extraction tools (e.g. SQL Server, DBeaver, MySQL) to support analysis and troubleshooting of integration and transaction data
  • Leverage monitoring tools (e.g. Instana, Elasticsearch) to analyse system performance, identify trends and support operational decision-making

Experience

Minimum:

  • 2 - 4 years’ technical experience, such as in systems design and analysis, software development, systems engineering or similar
  • Experience within the functional area
  • Experience working collaboratively with cross functional and technical teams.

Ideal:

  • Experience of technologies relevant to the functional area.

Qualifications (Minimum)

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology

Qualifications (Ideal or Preferred)

  • Certification in ITIL

Knowledge

Minimum:

  • Knowledge and understanding of:
    • Functional knowledge of the respective area
    • Systems analysis methodologies
    • Defining functional and non-functional requirements
    • Documentation including assistance with drafting documents for technical requirements and training purposes
    • Where applicable for the functional area:
    • SQL (e.g. My SQL and Microsoft SQL)
    • API integration (e.g. web services, REST Services, SOAP, etc)

Ideal:

  • Knowledge and understanding of:
    • ITIL Principles and the application thereof
    • Automation tools
    • Object-Oriented Analysis and Design (OOAD)
    • Project Management and coordination
    • Banking systems and business models
    • Card Processing
    • Best practices for Quality Assurance (QA)
    • Jira and Confluence
  • Where applicable for the functional area:
    • Programming and programming languages, enabling troubleshooting and escalation where required to Software Engineers. Could include:
    • JAVA | C# | Python, Powershell, Postman/Soap |NET Frameworks |XML |JSON |HTML |CSS |JavaScript
