The
Financial Aid Systems Analyst provides technical and functional support for the
Banner student system and related applications supporting financial aid
administration. Responsibilities include system analysis, development,
configuration, testing, upgrades, and collaboration with functional owners on
requirements, design specifications, and system enhancements.

The position calls for strong knowledge of federal and state financial aid regulations, as
well as expertise in SQL, database management, data analysis, and information
technology. Responsibilities include developing queries, reports, databases,
and population selections; managing Banner batch processes through Automic
Enterprise Applications Manager; and supporting Banner ePrint and related
reporting functions through ARGOS, Tableau, and EXCEL.

The Analyst
ensures data integrity, accurate financial aid processing, and compliance by
analyzing system and data issues, identifying root causes, and implementing
solutions. The position collaborates across departments, leads projects and
process improvements, and contributes to strategic planning and the future
direction of financial aid systems and technology.

Responsible for supporting the business departments and their interaction with the various business applications in use at the Alamo Colleges District. The Systems Analyst will review, analyze, and evaluate requirements; and provide advanced technical support for maintaining the SCT Banner system or programs and systems supporting students, faculty, staff, Institutional Research and programs at Alamo Colleges District. A successful candidate will possess a combination of technical skills and functional experience with the designated system(s) for the area of assignment
using the Banner Higher Education software suite and/or other reporting applications.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or a combination of relevant experience, education and training that equates to the required degree.
  • Three years or more experience with Banner maintenance support or technical support for research or marketing analysis as applicable.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Master's degree.
  • Degree in computer science, information systems, business administration, statistics or
    a related field.
  • Five years of experience with SCT Banner in job related function and three years of more experience with Banner maintenance support preferred.
