Job Description

The position will provide functional and technical implementation support across requirements gathering, business process analysis, system configuration, data conversion and validation, integrations, testing, documentation, training, and implementation readiness. The successful candidate will combine strong analytical and organizational skills with an ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

This is a full-time temporary position aligned with the Student implementation timeline As the implementation progresses and the College evaluates its long-term support model for the Student Information System and related enterprise systems, the position will be evaluated for potential long-term employment following implementation based on institutional need.

As the Systems Analyst, you will:

Student Implementation Support

Provide functional and technical support throughout the Student implementation lifecycle.

  • Participate in requirements gathering, discovery, design, configuration, testing, deployment, and stabilization activities.
  • Partner with functional stakeholders to understand current student-related processes and translate requirements into Student functionality.
  • Support configuration and validation of Student functionality.
  • Assist with identifying gaps between current-state processes and future-state Student functionality.
  • Work with the implementation partner and College project team to track requirements, decisions, issues, risks, and deliverables.
  • Support implementation milestones and ensure assigned activities are completed according to established project timelines.
  • Participate in design sessions, demonstrations, testing cycles, implementation readiness activities, and post-go-live stabilization.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify and standardize business processes as part of the transition to Student.

Data Conversion, Integration & Reporting

Support the migration, validation, integration, and reporting of student information.

  • Assist with extracting, transforming, mapping, validating, and reconciling data from legacy systems (primarily Ellucian Colleague) into Student.
  • Work with functional offices to establish data definitions, ownership, validation criteria, and reconciliation processes.
  • Conduct data-quality reviews and assist with identifying and resolving inconsistencies, incomplete records, and conversion issues.
  • Support multiple data-conversion cycles and validation activities throughout the implementation.
  • Assist with the design, testing, and validation of integrations between Student and other institutional systems.
  • Support development and validation of operational reports, queries, dashboards, and data extracts.
  • Promote consistent data definitions and data-governance practices across functional areas.
  • Protect student information and ensure implementation activities are conducted in accordance with College information-security and privacy requirements, including FERPA.

Testing, Documentation & Training Support successful system adoption through comprehensive testing, documentation, and user preparation.

  • Develop and execute test scripts for functional, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing.
  • Document defects, issues, and results and coordinate resolution with technical teams, functional leads, and implementation partners.
  • Develop and maintain business-process documentation, configuration documentation, standard operating procedures, user guides, and training materials.
  • Assist functional areas in documenting future-state business processes.
  • Coordinate and support user acceptance testing activities.
  • Develop and deliver training, demonstrations, workshops, and other resources for faculty and staff.
  • Provide implementation and post-go-live support to users as they transition to Student.
  • Gather user feedback and recommend improvements to processes, documentation, and system configuration.

Enterprise Systems Support & Collaboration

  • Support the Enterprise Systems team in the effective administration, adoption, and continuous improvement of the College’s enterprise applications.
  • Develop working knowledge across multiple enterprise systems and functional areas to increase team capacity, cross-training, and continuity of support.
  • Provide functional and technical support for enterprise applications, including troubleshooting issues, researching solutions, testing changes, and coordinating with vendors or functional stakeholders as needed.
  • Collaborate with ITS colleagues and campus departments to understand business requirements, support system functionality, and identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Participate in system upgrades, enhancements, integrations, testing, and other enterprise application initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain system documentation, procedures, configuration information, and support resources to promote knowledge sharing and reduce reliance on individual team members.
  • Cross-train with Enterprise Systems team members and provide backup support for critical applications and processes.
  • Communicate technical and functional concepts clearly to stakeholders with varying levels of technical expertise.
  • Promote consistent enterprise-system practices, effective use of institutional technology resources, and collaborative ownership of systems and business processes.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Computer Science or related
  • Minimum of 4-7 years experience required, 7-10 years experience preferred

Required Knowledge

  • Understanding of enterprise application implementation methodologies and system-development lifecycles.
  • Understanding of business-process analysis, requirements gathering, system testing, and documentation.
  • General understanding of relational databases (Unidata/Oracle), data structures, reporting, and data-quality practices.
  • Understanding of information-security and data-privacy principles.
  • Ability to quickly develop an understanding of higher-education student lifecycle processes and regulatory requirements, including FERPA.

Compensation and Benefits

Starting salary will be competitive, based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience.

Expected starting salary: $70,000.00 annually - full time temporary, exempt.
