Systems Administrator - Mid-Level
Why This is an Exciting Role:
BI&A is seeking a Systems Administrator to be responsible for maintaining the smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability. This role involves monitoring system resources, managing user accounts, coordinating with network engineers, and providing technical support to ensure efficient and secure computing environments.
Experience and Qualifications:
To be eligible for this demanding position, the ideal candidate should demonstrate the following experience and qualifications:
Required Education and Years of Experience:
·8 Years of experience in Systems Administration roles or a highly related field of work with similar scope and responsibilities.
·A Bachelor’s degree may be substituted for 4 years of experience, and a Master’s Degree may be substituted for 6 years of experience.
Required Qualifications:
·TS/SCI with an active CI Polygraph
·Proven experience managing multi-user computing environments
·Experience with backup and recovery procedures
·Demonstrated experience with system security administration
·Experience with data migrations between systems
·Strong knowledge of operating systems (Windows Server, Linux/Unix)
·Proficiency in user account management and access control
·Understanding system performance monitoring and tuning
·Understanding of networking concepts and protocols
·Willingness and ability to work flexible schedules, including potential shift work
Desired Qualifications:
·Industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA Server+, Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator, Red Hat Certified System Administrator)
·Experience with virtualization technologies
·Knowledge of scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash, Python)
·Experience with cloud computing platforms
·ITIL or other IT service management framework knowledge
