The Systems Administrator I supports the Infrastructure and Help Desk teams by installing, configuring, and maintaining IT systems, equipment, and core services. This role provides Tier 1 and Tier 2 technical support to shipmates and ensures reliable, secure, and efficient operation of company technology across both cloud and on premises environments.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Administer Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Entra ID user and group management.
• Manage and maintain Windows Server, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and file/print services.
• Configure endpoints, user accounts, permissions, shared resources, and system access in accordance with company standards.
• Administer basic network infrastructure components, including wireless access points, switches, firewalls, and VPN connectivity, under established procedures.
• Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 escalation support for Help Desk tickets, ensuring timely resolution and high-quality customer service.
• Responsible for the day-to-day aspects of keeping backend systems running smoothly
• Create and maintain accurate technical documentation, SOPs, and configuration records.

Requirements & Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in IT or technical equivalent experience required
• 1-2 years’ experience managing critical IT systems including configuring and updating:
• Office 365 Suite (Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive, Azure AD/Entra, Teams)
• Server Administration (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, KMS, Group Policies, IIS)
• PowerShell or scripting for automation and system management
• Desktop Administration (Windows, Mac)
• Network technologies (switches, firewalls, Wi-Fi, VPN, cellular)
• Identity Providers and related 3rd party integrations experience
• Linux experience is a plus
Grooming:
• All crew members must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance (specific standards available in the Employee Handbook).
Physical Demands:
• Ability to bend, rotate, reach, and climb stairs/ladders.
• Ability to maneuver through confined vessel areas.
• Must maintain balance and perform emergency duties as required.
Work Environment:
• Remote position with periodic onsite work in marine environments.
• Exposure to varying temperatures, weather conditions, and moderate to loud noise levels.
• Occasional evening/weekend work and maintenance windows.
• Participation in on-call rotation and emergency response.
• Ability to travel to vessels and sites.
