Overview

We are seeking a Systems Administrator II to support and maintain enterprise infrastructure environments. This role is responsible for the administration of Windows servers, virtualization platforms, storage systems, backup solutions, and cloud-integrated technologies. The ideal candidate will have strong troubleshooting skills, hands-on infrastructure experience, and a collaborative approach to supporting business-critical systems.

Top Required Skills

• 3+ years of experience in systems administration within a Windows-based enterprise environment
• Experience with server provisioning, patching, troubleshooting, and lifecycle management
• Hands-on experience with SAN/NAS storage technologies, including day-to-day administration, configuration, and expansion
• Foundational Azure administration experience, including hybrid cloud environments
• VMware administration experience, including virtual machine provisioning and troubleshooting

Preferred Skills

• Cloud migration experience
• Exposure to AI-related technologies or initiatives
• PowerShell scripting and automation
• Experience supporting Microsoft 365 services

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience

Experience

• 3-5 years of systems administration experience in a Windows enterprise environment
• Hands-on experience with:
• Windows Server and Active Directory
• VMware virtualization
• Enterprise backup solutions
• Server monitoring and patch management

Technical Skills

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
• Working knowledge of PowerShell scripting
• Understanding of storage technologies, networking fundamentals, and security best practices
• Experience following change management and operational procedures

Preferred Qualifications

• Industry certifications such as Microsoft, VMware, or similar
• Experience in regulated environments
• Experience supporting hybrid cloud environments, Azure AD, and Microsoft 365

Responsibilities

Systems Administration & Operations

• Install, configure, maintain, and support Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP
• Perform server provisioning, operating system upgrades, patching, and lifecycle management
• Administer VMware environments and support SAN/NAS storage systems
• Support Microsoft 365 services, including Azure AD, Exchange Online, and identity management solutions

Monitoring & Troubleshooting

• Monitor system performance, availability, and infrastructure alerts using enterprise monitoring tools
• Respond to incidents, outages, and service disruptions while performing root cause analysis and remediation
• Collaborate with infrastructure, security, database, and application teams to resolve technical issues
• Participate in an on-call rotation and provide after-hours support as needed

Backup & Disaster Recovery

• Support enterprise backup and recovery solutions
• Assist with disaster recovery planning, testing, and documentation
• Validate backup integrity and ensure successful recovery processes

Security & Compliance

• Apply security best practices, vulnerability remediation, access controls, and system hardening standards
• Maintain accurate technical documentation, configurations, and operational procedures
• Support audits, compliance initiatives, and infrastructure governance requirements

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

• Partner with infrastructure teams on system enhancements and modernization projects
• Assist with automation initiatives using PowerShell and other scripting tools
• Share knowledge with team members and contribute to process improvements

Additional Information

• Ability to lift and move equipment in data center environments when required
• Occasional after-hours or weekend work may be necessary

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Tallahassee, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $103000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
