As the Systems Administrator, you will support, administer, and maintain enterprise data center systems comprised of physical & virtual servers, storage, backups, and monitoring and automation. You will support enterprise systems and applications at the highest level of technical expertise with assistance from other information technology professionals, vendors, and premier support services. This support is often provided with the coordination and collaboration of IT Managers and the Help Desk Team.

We Require

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a closely related field

  • A combination of post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a year-for-year basis.

  • Three years of experience administering, configuring, managing, installing, and troubleshooting VMware vSphere in a data center environment

  • Two years of experience with Microsoft 365 and Azure administration, including Active Directory and other cloud solutions

  • One year of experience with Microsoft Purview, including Compliance Center, eDiscovery, Content Search, and supporting public records requests, audits, and compliance activities through the collection, export, and documentation of Microsoft 365 data

  • Experience with Microsoft Windows Server administration, including security and Group Policy management

  • Experience with Tanium patching and ManageEngine OS Deployer

  • Experience configuring, securing, documenting, and troubleshooting Election technology systems and equipment in a regulated or highly controlled environment

  • Experience with Cohesity backup and Dell PowerStore storage systems

  • Experience with DataDog or New Relic monitoring

Job Contributions

  • Install, configure, secure, and maintain enterprise server and infrastructure systems across multiple data centers. This includes managing virtualized and physical servers; conducting rack-and-stack and lifecycle tasks; monitoring VPN and connectivity; applying operating system patches and automated software distribution; overseeing enterprise access control and surveillance systems; supporting deployment releases for applications, systems, and hardware; and assisting with database performance and high-availability environments to ensure stability, security, and business continuity.

  • Administer and optimize Active Directory and related identity/access services, including user accounts, security groups, group policies, shared resources, and permissions to support secure enterprise environments.

  • Install, upgrade, support, and maintain enterprise and line-of-business applications, including developing and running automation scripts (e.g., PowerShell), ensuring system compatibility and performance, and coordinating deployment activities with internal and external IT partners.

  • Monitor system and application performance; diagnose and resolve complex infrastructure issues; perform root-cause analysis; and collaborate with IT leadership, Help Desk teams, and vendors to ensure timely resolution of incidents and uninterrupted delivery of critical services.

  • Configure, manage, and troubleshoot high-availability and redundancy solutions across data centers, including clustering, load balancing, failover technologies, and enterprise maintenance and upgrade cycles to ensure continuous availability of production environments.

  • Execute and monitor enterprise backup operations, verify backup integrity, maintain backup schedules and documentation, conduct disaster recovery testing, and support off-site media management and data recovery activities to protect organizational data.

  • Provide exceptional customer service and technical support, including incident response, ticket resolution, user assistance, knowledge-sharing, and rotating on-call support; maintain professional communication with Recorder and Elections stakeholders and business partners.

  • Maintain enterprise data storage repositories, enforce data retention and compliance requirements, assist with structured and unstructured data storage solutions, and coordinate with database administrators on data availability, integrity, and public records request support.

  • Manage lifecycle of enterprise hardware and infrastructure assets, including installation, inventory tracking, maintenance, decommissioning, vendor coordination, and procurement support to ensure accurate asset management and timely equipment replacement.

Working Conditions

  • Exerting up to 10 lbs. occasionally or negligible weights frequently; sitting most of the time

  • Position is typically office or administrative work and is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions
