Duties

  • Working within a support team, undertake design and maintenance of the Commission’s ICT systems, particularly in the areas of network services and security, on premise and cloud server infrastructure and corporate applications.
  • Provide technical support for the ongoing development and security of the Commission’s network and server infrastructure.
  • Provide technical support for the Commission’s data and recovery infrastructure.
  • Assist with capacity planning, infrastructure and performance monitoring, reporting and tuning activities related to physical and virtual operating systems, corporate applications, databases and networks.
  • Respond to Incidents and Problems and ensure a timely response.
  • Provide technical advice to ICT management and leadership and assist in the documentation of processes and procedures as required.
  • Participate in the Commission’s change management process.

The Head of State Service has determined that the person nominated for this vacancy is to satisfy a pre-employment check before taking up the appointment, promotion or transfer.

The following checks are to be conducted:

  1. Pre-employment (National Police Record) checks for: Arson and fire setting, violent crimes and crimes against the person, sex-related offences, drug and alcohol related offences, crimes involving dishonesty, deception and/or conspiracy, making false declarations, malicious damage and destruction to property, serious traffic offences, crimes against public order or relating to the Administration of Law and Justice, Executive or the Legislative Power.
  2. Disciplinary action in previous employment.
  3. Identification check.

Desirable Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in the administration of large and complex ICT networks
  • Experience in Microsoft Windows Server and Networking infrastructure
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or substantial progress thereto
