Job Description

As a Systems Administrator, you will support the company’s internal IT systems, users, and ongoing technology projects while taking ownership of day-to-day IT support and administration. You will also assist with the implementation of cloud, security, and infrastructure improvements, playing a key role within a small technical team.

Our client is based in London, England and they provide high-end optical fiber networking fully managed solutions to businesses requiring fast and reliable connectivity. Their services range from network & cloud connectivity, and hosting through to systems integration and fully managed environments.

They are currently expanding their team in the Philippines and are looking for an experienced Systems Administrator to support their internal IT systems, users, and technology projects. You will play a key role in IT support and administration while contributing to cloud, security, and infrastructure initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Acting as the first point of contact for internal IT issues, incidents and service requests
  • Providing technical support for users, laptops, applications, accounts, permissions and access-related issues
  • Managing user onboarding, offboarding and role changes, including accounts, licences, devices, group memberships and permissions
  • Administering Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint and OneDrive
  • Managing users, groups, authentication methods, enterprise applications and access controls within Microsoft Entra ID
  • Administering Windows devices through Microsoft Intune, including application deployment, configuration profiles, compliance policies, security baselines and device restrictions
  • Supporting Windows Autopilot and the provisioning, replacement, rebuilding and retirement of company devices
  • Deploying new applications, managing software updates and resolving application compatibility issues using Microsoft Intune and other appropriate tools
  • Supporting Microsoft Defender, endpoint security controls, patch management and vulnerability remediation
  • Assisting with the implementation and maintenance of Conditional Access policies, multifactor authentication and role-based access controls
  • Supporting Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, file services and related infrastructure where required
  • Assisting with Microsoft Azure, cloud infrastructure and other internal IT projects
  • Monitoring system health, security alerts, device compliance and outstanding remediation tasks
  • Troubleshooting hardware, software, identity, access and connectivity issues through to resolution
  • Liaising with third-party suppliers, support providers and software vendors where necessary
  • Maintaining accurate system documentation, asset records, configuration records, support procedures and user guides
  • Following appropriate change management, security and documentation processes when making system changes
  • Identifying recurring issues and improving or automating administrative processes where possible
  • Supporting the ongoing development of the company’s IT security controls and ISO 27001 processes

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a Systems Administrator, Infrastructure Support or senior IT Support role
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration, Windows devices and user account management
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Entra ID or similar endpoint and identity management platforms
  • Experience managing user accounts, licences, groups, permissions and access controls
  • Good understanding of Windows device management, software deployment, patching and troubleshooting
  • Good understanding of networking fundamentals, including IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, VPNs
  • Good understanding of security principles, including least privilege, multifactor authentication, device compliance and secure change management.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to support users with varying levels of technical knowledge
  • Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to implementing changes
  • The ability to manage tasks independently and take ownership of issues through to completion
  • The ability to document systems, changes, procedures and technical information clearly and accurately
  • The ability to work effectively within a small technical team and escalate issues when appropriate
  • A reliable and organized approach, with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • A willingness to carry out routine support and implementation work while developing into larger cloud, security and infrastructure responsibilities

Advantageous skills or nice-to-haves:

  • PowerShell or other scripting and automation experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Defender for Endpoint
  • Experience with Windows Autopilot
  • Experience implementing or supporting Conditional Access policies
  • Experience supporting Windows Server, Active Directory and Group Policy
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure and cloud infrastructure
  • Experience with vulnerability management, endpoint security and security remediation
  • Experience working within an ISO 27001 or similarly controlled environment
  • Knowledge of ITIL principles, incident management and change management
  • Relevant Microsoft, other technical certifications
