About this position: Systems Administration (Operations Support Specialist)

Location – Quantico, VA

Position needs to be near a Marine Corps Base.

Jacksonville NC area +/- 75 miles

Quantico VA

San Diego/29 Palms +/- 100 miles

Yuma Az +/- 75 miles

Wage/Salary Range: $100-130k

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Serves as a technical expert in areas relevant to the project.
  • Must be capable of demonstrating experience in conducting analysis and developing solutions and in the application of information technology.
  • Produces and reviews technical documentation reflecting detailed knowledge of specific technical areas.
  • Recommends measures to improve methods, performance, and quality of product or service, and suggests changes to increase efficiency.
  • Design and implement monitoring, configuration management and reporting functions that will make a hands-off environment.
  • Define and document best practices and support procedures.
  • Provide after-hours support for Infrastructure related emergencies as well as occasional weekend Maintenance.
  • Maintain inventory and asset configuration documentation.

Required (Minimum Necessary) Qualifications

  • Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree (Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Systems, or Computer Science)
  • Level of Experience Requirements: 10+ years experience as a system administrator.
  • Linux experience.
  • Security+ Certification.
  • Must possess or be able to attain a DoD Secret security clearance, requires U.S. citizenship.
  • Experience supporting DoD or government systems (if applicable).

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communications skills.
  • Ability to identify, analyze, and translate complex information; make appropriate judgements and evaluate options.
  • Experience with implementation of Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG).

Job is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, and multi-line telephone system. The work described herein is primarily a modern office setting. Occasional travel may be required.

Additional Qualifying Factors

As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and have acceptable background check results. If applicable to the contract, you must also obtain and maintain the appropriate clearance levels required and must also be able to obtain access to military installations.
