
JT4, LLC provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.S. Air Force, Space Force, and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract, better known as J-Tech II. JT4 develops and maintains realistic, integrated test and training environments and prepares our nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challenges.
- ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Evaluates system specifications, installs enterprise computer systems, configures systems, establishes standards, ensures hardware/software compatibility and maintains workstations and server systems focusing on the Operating system and the network.
Employee will be responsible for the following functions/duties:
RANGE POSITION DESCRIPTION
The job duties of a System Administrator IV include but are not limited to; deploying end user client hardware, configuring information system services, configuring server/network equipment and addressing any end user concerns. In addition, a suitable candidate will have a working knowledge of cybersecurity concepts and best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Asset Lifecycle Management: Responsible for the deployment, maintenance, and decommissioning of all organizational IT hardware and software. This includes the physical installation of workstations (Linux & Windows OS), uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), troubleshooting datacenter hardware, and managing associated structured cabling. Able to design and deploy new datacenter capabilities as required for system expansion and reconfiguration projects. Duties also involve coordinating with external entities for the management of infrastructure beyond our direct responsibility, such as enterprise network switches. Actively assists in the IT asset procurement process by specifying system operating requirements and making recommendations for future hardware/software implementations and related process improvements.
System & Network Administration: Involves the deployment and administration of classified remote access networks. Monitors local LAN/WAN and server infrastructure for performance issues and is able to design and deploy new network capabilities as required for system expansion and reconfiguration projects. Schedules, plans, and performs system upgrades, including managing the transition through design, test, production, and documentation environments. Additionally, manages the full lifecycle of user accounts, from creation and initial login support (password changes, email configuration, and network share mapping) to the eventual decommissioning of accounts, including managing user account permissions and access controls on the enterprise network through the IAO Express system.
Compliance & Documentation: Conducts regular, systematic inventories of all hardware and software assets to ensure adherence to compliance standards. Develops and maintains comprehensive technical documentation for standard operating procedures (SOPs) within the team.
Technical Support: Provides troubleshooting and preventative maintenance for audio-visual (AV) systems in both classified and unclassified meeting environments. Manages the workflow of IT support issues through the helpdesk ticketing system, from initial reporting to resolution.
Security & Logistics: Provides escort duties for personnel requiring access to secure areas.
The System Administrator IV must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance up to Top Secret with Special Access.
The System Administrator must be able to obtain and maintain DoD IAM Level II certification (CompTIA Security+) certification within 6 months of date hired. The System Administrator must be able to work independently, as a member of a team, and as a small team leader. To complete each of these tasks and have very strong verbal and written communications skills.
REQUIREMENTS - EDUCATION, TECHNICAL, AND WORK EXPERIENCE
A bachelor’s degree in associated discipline from an accredited academic institution or equivalent experience through technical training, completion of a recognized certification program, or experience. Requires at least nine (9) years of experience in computer system related areas of expertise and must possess and apply a broad knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures in computer science, graphics, and information systems.

SALARY
The expected salary range for this position is $97,000 to $130,000 annually.

WORKING CONDITIONS
This position involves work typical of an office environment with no unusual hazards. There is occasional lifting (up to 20 pounds), constant sitting and use of a computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while writing, reviewing, and editing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, and constant mental alertness.

Ranges supported by JT4 include the Nevada Test and Training Range (NTTR), the National Space Test and Training Complex (NSTTC) at Schriever Air Force Base, the Utah Test and Training Range (UTTR), the Air Force Test Center 412th Test Wing (412TW) at Edwards Air Force Base, and the Navy China Lake Ranges (CLR) including Pt. Mugu, California.
