About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Systems Accountant to join our Financial Operations team and play a key role in ensuring that our finance systems are effectively developed, enhanced and optimised to maximise the performance and functionality.
Working with a collaborative finance team, you will be accountable for maintaining the integrity of the finance system, supporting day-to-day operations and identifying and delivering system and process improvements that increase efficiency, strengthen controls and improve the end-user experience. You will provide high-level application support, technical advice, user training and education, and work closely with stakeholders to influence effective system use and the successful implementation of change.

We are undertaking a significant transformation, transitioning a legacy system that have been in place for more than 30 years to a contemporary enterprise platform, with go-live scheduled for 1 July 2027.
This role will join us during this transition and play an important role in supporting the implementation, testing and adoption of the new system. Following go-live, the role will provide ongoing functional support and contribute to the continued development and maturity of the system, helping to embed new ways of working, optimise functionality and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
The role provides an opportunity to contribute to both the successful transition to the new finance system and its longer-term evolution, ensuring the platform continues to effectively support Council’s financial operations and changing business needs.
This is a full-time permanent role based at Knox Civic Centre. We support flexible working arrangements while ensuring operational needs of the role are met.
This is a Band 7 classified role. Remuneration will start from $115,162 (depending on experience) plus superannuation in accordance with the Superannuation Guarantee.
