SCCI is seeking a System Tester to join our team in support of our Battle Management System program. Our System Testers conduct developmental testing as well as system level testing to ensure the products are well characterized and understood before delivery to the warfighter. Testing is executed both in the lab and in the field with constant focus on process and product improvement to ensure the highest quality products are delivered to the warfighter as quickly as possible. This position requires travel to remote locations for installation, integration, and testing, working closely with other stakeholders, customers, flight personnel, and end users. This position is located in Dahlgren, VA.

This position requires CONUS travel up to 3 times semi-annually.

Responsibilities:

  • Apply robust manual and automated test engineering processes in a lab environment, working closely with internal and external customers, as well as the end-user
  • Develop test strategies and detailed test procedures to evaluate the functionality, safety and precision of the weapon control system
  • Develop testable requirements and plans documenting test strategies and detailed test procedures based on system requirements, as well as test execution
  • Design, implement, and execute manual and automated test strategies and procedures
  • Utilize test tools to perform requirements verification, environment validation and system performance testing
  • Provide fielding and off-site testing support
  • Develop and communicate test plans, progress and performance results both orally and in writing
  • Attend and participate in the installation and assessment of the system conducted locally and remotely
  • Troubleshoot system problem reports working collaboratively with developers and record results and actions in documentation and tickets
  • Collaborate with BMS technical teams through regularly scheduled meetings

Required Skills and

Experience:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to obtain and maintain an active Secret Security Clearance
  • A Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline; Or equivalent experience such as direct hands-on experience with a weapon system application ora military training background
  • Minimum of three (3) years of full-time experience demonstrating the ability to design, implement and execute manual and automated test procedures as well as the ability to use test tools to perform requirements verification, environment validation and system performance testing
  • Two (2) years of full time experience testing software intensive systems
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of systems engineering and testing practices throughout all phases of the software development lifecycle
  • Demonstrated strong problem solving, written and oral communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team environment
  • Demonstrated experience developing testing strategies and detailed test procedures, based on system requirements, as well as test execution
  • Demonstrated ability to perform verification and validation, performance and acceptance testing for the applications within the rapid development environment
  • Ability to work independently and interface professionally with other government agencies, contractors, and military personnel
  • Support remote test events
  • Walk flight line up to ~200 meters while carrying heavy equipment to the platform
  • Pass an FAA class 3 medical exam
  • Pass Hypobaric Chamber training

  • Experience working with Linux and UNIX environments
  • Knowledge of Test and Evaluation best practices and rapid development processes
  • Knowledge of Weapon Systems and Command & Control Systems
  • Knowledge of rapid acquisition process
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, rapidly changing range/field environment
