Job Description

-

Ownership:

  • Act as an entrepreneur for Cabin Module who shall be responsible for cost, quality, funding, warranty and complexity management of Cabin system.
  • Portfolio management of Cabin module spanning across Cabin structure, Cabin Suspension, Cabin exterior (Front module, Lighting & view, Side & Door module, Engine encapsulation & Air deflectors) and Cabin Interior (Interior trim parts & roof, Steering, Floor & Rear module, Driver workplace, Cockpit and HVAC) across trucks and buses.

Strategy:

  • Responsible for finalizing Cabin module strategy for DICV.
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining detailed module-level plans and roadmaps for Cabin that integrate benchmarks, regulatory requirements, market needs, and long-term business strategy.
  • Contributes towards vehicle level project pre-QG 09 preparation by providing Cabin module level based strategic input.

Planning:

  • Define, review and align Cabin module level plan with project plan for DICV projects to meet project targets including scope, cost, funding requirements & time plan (QCD).
  • Drive solution bank with respect to quality, cost, complexity management with full business case for setting up Cabin module level targets for series management organization.
  • Define detailed plans to achieve Cabin module level targets of (N+1 / N+2) year of Series Business.

Steering

  • Review and steer topics progress within the cross functional Cabin module team for realization of projects and series deliverable as per agreed cost, quality, timeline and funding targets.
  • Report progress and Seek decision from Top management forum (IPC, SBMC, IPB & OpCom) on deviations from the base plan.
  • Decide on change request within Module Team decision-making threshold. Review & recommend the change request to Top management forum if the change request is beyond the Module Team threshold.
  • Abnormality/Escalation management of QCDs in Top management Forum & from Cabin Module Team members.
  • Review, align, approve and communicate the risks and the countermeasures identified by the Cabin Module team members.

Continuous Improvement

  • Generate, evaluate and manage pipeline of continuous improvement ideas related to cost, quality, complexity, and product features within Cabin module scope.
  • Ensure compliance of and propose improvements in- processes, systems and frameworks concerning Cabin module.
  • Review, align, approve and communicate lessons learned as part of continuous improvement exercise.

Global Alignment

  • Ensure effective communication, synchronization, and alignment with global Cabin Module Teams and relevant functions for all changes and project implementations.

Leadership:

  • Lead and steer direct reporting and cross functional team members to ensure high efficiency and effectiveness with respect to C module.
  • Steer and align change requests across functions, proactively identify and address risks, and escalate unresolved issues to ensure timely decisions, robust countermeasures, and compliance with governance processes.
  • For coordinated changes, align with concerned module team lead and lead the coordinated change execution.

Experience:

  • 12-15 years of good experience in Automotive industry

  • Good experience in Leadership role, project management and change management

    Education & Training:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mechanical or Automobile engineering.
  • Master’s in business administration is preferable.

  • Project management certification also preferred.
