You will create test plans, design test fixtures and equipment, run experiments and validations, and help troubleshoot issues so that our products perform reliably in clinical environments. This role works on problems of moderate scope, using sound judgment within established procedures and collaborating closely with crossfunctional teams. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with a passion for hands-on testing, systems thinking, and continuous improvement. We are located in Santa Clara, CA. Apply today!

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a thorough understanding of our products and how they are used in clinical practice to design, develop, and test nextgeneration diagnostic systems.
  • Define and develop test methods and procedures for new and existing products.
  • Perform experiments and validations, collect data, and create clear, detailed test reports.
  • Identify required hardware/sensors and software components for manufacturing and test equipment.
  • Recommend and support upgrades and repairs of test equipment and fixtures.
  • Review system-level documentation (e.g., HRS, SRS) to ensure safety, functional, and third-party requirements are covered in system-level testing.
  • Continuously seek to improve test methods, efficiency, and product quality.
  • Work closely with and contribute to cross-functional teams (e.g., Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality).
  • Build strong working relationships with Design Assurance, Regulatory Affairs, Clinical Affairs, Clinical Applications, and other functional partners.
  • Provide regular communication and updates on progress, schedule, budget, risks, and resource needs.

Qualifications

Education

  • Preferred minimum: Technical Bachelor’s Degree (e.g., Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related).

  • With a non-technical degree: typically 2–5 years of related experience.
  • Experience using MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Experience troubleshooting and resolving issues with equipment and processes.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong understanding of operating systems (including real-time), embedded and application software, hardware, and systems testing best practices.
  • Experience testing functional, design, and interface aspects of a commercial product at the board, subsystem, and system levels.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, including mechanical drawings and circuit schematics.
  • Working knowledge of test automation and its application in both software and hardware environments.
  • Hands-on experience using technical equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, etc.
  • Training, experience, and aptitude with electro-mechanical equipment, soldering, and PCB design and testing.
  • Strong written, verbal, organizational, and interpersonal skills; able to create precise, accurate technical documentation.
