This open competitive advertisement is for a Career Service position located at Central Office in Tallahassee, FL in the Office of Information Technology.

The mission of the Office of Technology in the Florida Department of Corrections (FDC) is to provide innovative, reliable, and secure technology solutions that support the Department's operations and strategic goals.

This position is not a telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Administrative Program Support: Assist the OIT Bureau Chief of Business Solutions with workflow management tasks, including contract/vendor management, procurement, procedure manual updates, and IT audits.
  • Customer Service Excellence: Ensure OIT services are delivered with a high level of customer satisfaction and efficiency.
  • Contract and Vendor Oversight: Manage staff augmentation contracts, data sharing agreements, and procurement activities, including developing scopes of work, agreements, and corrective action plans.
  • Invoice and Budget Coordination: Process vendor invoices within established timelines and collaborate with the Budget Office to resolve payment issues as the primary point of contact.
  • Staff Augmentation Management: Oversee onboarding, termination, timesheet approvals, and compliance with policies for staff augmentation resources, ensuring adherence to state term contracts.
  • Stakeholder and Vendor Engagement: Lead or participate in meetings with stakeholders and vendors to review contract progress, burn rates, deliverables, and procurement documentation.
  • Policy and Process Development: Assist in developing and refining IT policies, procedures, and templates for contract/vendor management, ensuring alignment with industry best practices.
  • Audit and Governance Support: Collect information for formal audits, participate in IT governance processes, and ensure adherence to FDC policies and procedures while completing tasks proactively and efficiently.

  • Ability to maintain a Florida Contract Management Certification.

  • Requires medium level proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analytics, conditional formatting, and
  • mathematical calculations using formulas, data tables, and pivot tables.
  • Medium level proficiency in SmartSheet.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must possess four years of Contract Management experience or a bachelor’s degree.
  • Must have the ability to become a Florida Certified Contract Manager within 6 months of hire.
  • Must have experience with drafting and reviewing contract documents.
  • Must have experience in assessing financial consequences.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Offices (Excel and SmartSheet)
  • Must have experience in reviewing, analyzing and evaluating data.
  • Must have experience entering transactions in My FloridaMarketPlace.
  • Must have knowledge of state purchasing requirements including section 287.057, Florida Statues.

BACKGROUND SCREENING REQUIREMENT

The Florida Department of Corrections requires all job applicants and volunteers to pass a Level 2 background check as per Chapter 435, Florida Statutes. This check must be completed before they can start working or volunteering.
