Immerse yourself in a Monday-Friday Summer Intern session, that will run from June to August (it is expected students will take this time off from coursework to fully engage with this working mentorship opportunity).

This position will sit at our Aguadilla, PR location. You must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment. Relocation is not offered.

What you will do

Co-ops/Interns at Pratt & Whitney work on challenging, meaningful, and impactful projects across our business. We’re looking for students with an engineer’s curiosity, an explorer’s heart, and a perfectionist’s grit to help us build the future of aerospace. Whether supporting Mature Commercial Engines, our industry-leading Geared Turbofan engines, Military Engine programs, Operations, or Business Support functions, the objectives of our program are to help you to develop an understanding of our industry, our company, its operations, and how each discipline and department contributes to the success of our products and customer partnerships. While you benefit from on-the-job training and practical experience, you are expected to contribute fresh ideas and participate as a productive member of the department. Your growth as a professional and the difference you make will be on display every day.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Candidates should have successfully demonstrated analytical and mathematical modeling skills to solve problems and the ability to work at an implementation level.
  • Support system design integration and requirement management activities.
  • Attend and participate in group meetings, teleconferences and/or training.
  • Responsible for making minor changes or enhancements in systems and processes to solve problems or improve the effectiveness of the work area.
  • Support project management activities
  • Based on business needs, the incumbent may be required to support other duties/functions within the company.
  • English (read, write, speak) is required when communicating with customers, co-workers, or supervisors who only speak English.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Enrolled in a degree program in Mechanical, Aerospace, Chemical, Computer or Software Engineering.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen. This position may require access to systems/tools that are restricted to individuals who possess US citizenship.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A passion for learning about and pursuing a career in aviation and aerospace
  • Creative problem-solving skills and adaptability in responding to new business challenges.
  • Eager to learn new things, contribute a fresh perspective, and share your knowledge with others.
  • Basic understanding of gas turbine engines.
  • Knowledge in Python or other coding languages.

Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite. This means that responsibilities of the job need to be performed onsite in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico on a regular basis with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote following the schedule assigned by the Manager.
