Job Introduction
The Frequentis Group is an international supplier of communication and information systems for control centres with safety-critical tasks. These ‘Control Centre Solutions’ are developed and distributed by Frequentis in the business segments Air Traffic Management (civil and military air traffic control, aeronautical information management, air defence) and Public Safety & Transport (police, fire and rescue services, emergency medical services, vessel traffic and railways). With headquarters in Vienna, the company employs more than 2500 people worldwide, with subsidiaries, regional offices and representatives in over 50 countries.
In Cluj we started in 2009 and our local team currently has 250+ colleagues and is growing.
As part of our team, you will actively develop products in an international environment, where experienced people will help you further develop your skills and advance in your career. TowerX is Frequentis’ unified tower automation platform for air traffic control operations. It combines multiple tower automation capabilities into a single, fully integrated and tested product baseline, enabling safe, efficient, and scalable tower operations. TowerX is designed as a standardized, modular solution, integrating applications such as ground surveillance, digital flight strips, meteorological information. It is validated on a defined reference environment and serves as the foundation for delivery projects ranging from conventional towers to remote and digital towers.

Key Tasks

• Integrate Frequentis software products, hardware, and third party components into complete system configurations and validate correct interaction, performance, and stability.
• Set up, maintain, and operate test and integration environments.
• Analyze defect reports and test failures, identify root causes, and support troubleshooting.
• Maintain test and integration environments and document test results clearly.
• Ensure end to end test execution by integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Design, develop, maintain, and execute automated and manual test cases in accordance with test specifications and system integration test plans.
• Produce and maintain test documentation, integration reports, and test records demonstrating fulfillment of requirements and readiness for further qualification steps.
• Work closely with developers, architects, and other engineers to ensure high system quality.

Key Qualifications

• Experience in test automation and system/software integration for complex distributed systems.
• Strong understanding of testing concepts with focus on integration and end-to-end testing.
• Hands on experience with test automation frameworks (e.g. Java based), CI/CD (e.g. Jenkins), and Linux environments.
• Familiarity with containerized environments (e.g. Docker) and test/integration environment setup.
• Good understanding of Linux RedHat systems, and system environments (ELK stack, RabbitMq).
• Good understanding of networking concepts (OSI Model).
• Experience with system and application configurations for complex setups.
• Ability to analyze logs, metrics, and system behavior to identify root causes of defects.
• Experience working with test management and defect tracking systems.
• Good English skills (both written and spoken).
• A relevant certification (like ISTQB, RedHat) would be a plus.
