Atomic Machines is ushering in a new era of micromanufacturing with its Matter Compiler™ technology platform. This platform enables new classes of micromachines to be designed and built by providing manufacturing processes and a materials library that are inaccessible to semiconductor manufacturing methods. It unlocks MEMS manufacturing not only for device classes that could never be produced by semiconductor methods, but also for entirely new categories. Furthermore, this digital platform is fully programmable in the way 3D printing is digital—but whereas 3D printing produces parts of a single material using a single process, the Matter Compiler™ technology platform is a multi-process, multi-material system: bits and raw materials go in, and complete, functional micromachines come out. The Atomic Machines team has also created an exciting first device—made possible only through the Matter Compiler™ technology platform—that we will be unveiling to the world soon.
Our offices are in Emeryville and Santa Clara, California.
Atomic Machines is hiring Electrical Integration Engineers (Electromechanical Focus) to design, build, document, and troubleshoot the electrical systems used in our custom manufacturing equipment.
You will own the electrical integration of electromechanical modules and subsystems, from selecting and interfacing sensors, actuators, and third-party electronics through first-article build, bring-up, validation, and documentation. Interconnect design is an important part of the work, alongside prototype implementation, fixture development, physical integration and packaging, and troubleshooting across electronics, wiring, firmware, and mechanisms. You will work closely with electrical, mechanical, embedded systems, and manufacturing engineers to turn early prototypes into reliable, repeatable, and serviceable designs.
The compensation for this position also includes equity and benefits.
Salary Range
$165,000—$200,000 USD

Atomic Machines is on Earth to radically advance humanity's command of matter. Our MC-1 manufacturing technology embodies this mission at the micro-scale, both blowing open the design space ("MEMS 2.0") and doing so in a way that enables extremely rapid iteration and scaling to high-volume manufacturing ("thought to thing time"). Our first device product establishes a new price-performance class highly relevant to the AI data center space.
