Job Description

Systems engineering is a cross-functional engineering discipline centered on an approach, mindset, and process. All activities that consider both the business and the technical needs of the customers with the goal of providing a quality product that meets the users needs. The discipline that executes a robust process of design, creation, and optimization of systems, consisting of identification and quantification of system requirements, creation of alternate system design concepts, performance of design trade studies, selection and implementation of the best designs and verification that the design is properly integrated and executed. Process that proceeds from concept to production to operation.
Accountable for the quality of own work. Subject to direct operations supervision/prescribed work instructions/systems checking. Executes within a well-defined operations framework. There is generally a step by step sequence of standard operational tasks which need to be followed to achieve an end result.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Accountable for the analysis, design, and optimization of power systems, including conducting studies, troubleshooting, and ensuring system stability and reliability.
  • Conduct power system studies using ETAP software, encompassing power flow, short circuits, transients, stability, arc flash, harmonics, and grounding. Evaluate options, write reports, and present study results to clients' technical teams.
  • Advantageous knowledge of DIgSILENT and PSCAD software for collaborative work on power system studies projects, particularly in network modeling, steady-state, and dynamic analyses.
  • Perform basic and detailed engineering for power systems and balance-of-plant (BoP) equipment, including transformers, switchgear, and cables across various industries, such as M&O and O&G domains.
  • Analyze customer contracts, prepare specifications for vendors and internal stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate ability to work in a team, participate in project discussions, and review technical reports and projects.
  • Review developed solutions and identify opportunities for process, system, or equipment improvements.
  • Ensure strict adherence to all company and customer EHS policies and procedures.
  • Identify and propose improvements in processes, tools, system solutions, and technologies, and implement agreed-upon improvements with the leadership team.
  • Foster relationships with other GEV business entities to maximize synergy benefits.
  • Liaise with Platform Engineering, Technology and Value Engineering, and Supply Chain as needed to support projects and business objectives.
  • Maintain a continuous commitment to Learning & Development.
  • Promote a lean mindset to deliver optimal technical solutions for projects.

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from reputed College / University
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Power Systems / Project Engineering / System engineering projects based on VSDS for Industry /Marine / Oil & Gas / Power domains
  • Extensive knowledge in Power system tools: ETAP / DIgSILENT (Power factory) / PSCAD / PSSE
  • Knowledge and application of International Standards
  • Ability to adapt and multitask with project / application engineers
  • Analytical and innovative approach in problem solving
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications
  • PLM, Primavera experience are added advantage
