In this role, you'll:

  • Bring your experience in Systems Engineering (Telecommunications) to our Operational Technology (OT) Program Delivery Business Unit in our Engineering and Maintenance branch in Sydney Trains.
  • You will provide day-day technical management activities and Design Authority advice on Sydney Trains’ operational Telecommunications system assets throughout the system’s lifecycle from conception to disposal.
  • You will support Systems Engineering and technical integration activities for systems or high complexity projects to ensure that the overall integrated system solution meets business needs.
  • You will help to reshape transport solutions and make a genuine difference for the people of NSW!
  • This is a Full Time Permanent position based in our Clyde office in a hybrid working model. Some travel to other depots will be required.

The role will also support transmission systems project/program delivery by engaging in and contributing to Systems Engineering and technical integration activities for systems or high complexity projects to ensure that the overall integrated system solution meets business needs, is value for money, delivered with engineering due diligence in a timely manner.

About you

  • You will have tertiary qualifications in Electrical/Telecommunications engineering, or a minimum 3 years engineering experience and be able to qualify for a chartered engineering membership.
  • Your telecoms systems engineering experience will include methodologies across the system development life-cycle stages from specifications to verification and validation.
  • You will have hands on experience with Transmission Technology ideally with a Rail network but telecommunication industry background is also relevant.
  • You have high levels of attention to detail and a track record of providing system/design engineering within rail and/or telecommunication projects.
  • You’re a trusted professional who enjoys building lasting and respectful relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders.
