We’re searching for a dynamic Systems Engineer to join the Data Center systems engineering and marketing team responsible for creating and scaling innovative system-level designs to win key customer opportunities.
The key responsibilities in this role include:
- Ownership of SEM steps 3-6: build system knowledge and identify system-level design challenges, identify and execute actions to win top opportunities, create system-centric scalable technical content, proactively scale knowledge and wins
- Understand power delivery trends, challenges, and opportunities in the data center market
- Develop system level solutions for strategic customers independently, including analysis, design, PCB layout, hardware testing and debug, and documenting results
- Communicate proactively and effectively with all stakeholders (product lines, field sales, customers, portfolio/brand marketing, etc.)
- Scale proven reference designs with timely release on sales enablement tools (Seismic) and ti.com
- Generate technical collateral (e.g. articles, seminar topics, applications notes, design guides, tradeshow demos).
- Perform technical training for sales teams or customers (e.g. FAE summit trainings, on-site workshops, conference presentations)
- Responsible for on-time execution of project deliverables while simultaneously managing several projects in parallel.
The person in this position must be willing to travel worldwide to support customer visits and regional training.
Minimum requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, ECE, Computer Engineering, or related field
- 2 years of experience in power electronics design
- Deep technical understanding of circuit design, control, noise sources, and component selection
Preferred qualifications:
- 5 years of hands-on analog and embedded electronics experience
- Master’s degree or higher degree with a focus in power electronics
- Deep technical understanding of circuit design, control, noise sources, and component selection
- Proficient with analog electronics design, analysis, and simulation tools. Altium and PLECS/SIMPLIS experience is preferred
- Ability to generate system level proposals (e.g. block diagrams)
- Be active with team work and willing to work with pressure. Adapt to change well
- Excellent communication with global customer and TI teams. Comfortable with a detailed in-depth technical discussion with system designers/architects at customers as well as internally at TI
- Ability to write articles, seminar topics and application notes as needed
- Ability to prepare and give technical trainings
- Ability to design, verify, and troubleshoot a complete system at the board level
- Ability to take the initiative and drive for results
- Strong time management skills that enable on-time project delivery. Ability to dynamically reprioritize tasks as needs change.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills. Able to understand system requirements and design trade-offs.
- Experience with embedded software programming. Experience with microcontrollers (e.g. C2000), digital controllers, etc. is preferred
- Ability to do worst case analysis and error analysis
- Ability to analyze and model converter losses at component level and system level
- Planar magnetics design experience
- Familiarity and design experience with various power converter topologies with high current (>100A) and high voltage (>100V)
- Detailed knowledge and experience with control loop design
- Ability to mentor junior engineers and field apps engineers
- Knowledge of the Asia data center market and experience with key players (OEMs, ODMs, CMs, etc.).
- Ability to track trends, platforms, top opportunities, timelines, etc. in the AI data center market and to find ways to drive business wins
- Experience with EMI/EMC design, testing, and debug
- Awareness of procedures and processes used during high volume production of electronics systems
