Job Description

Kaizen Approach is currently looking to hire a System Engineer (SE) to analyze user requirements, concept of operations documents, and high-level system architectures to develop system requirements specifications. In this role, you will lead design and development activities, guiding users in formulating requirements while advising on alternative approaches and conducting feasibility studies. Responsibilities include providing technical leadership for the integration of requirements, design, and technology, as well as incorporating new plans, designs, and systems into ongoing operations. You will develop technical documentation, including system architecture and design documents, and guide system development and implementation planning through the preparation of system engineering management plans and system integration and test plans. Additionally, you will interact with the Government regarding systems engineering technical considerations and associated issues, ensuring the technical integrity of work performed and deliverables in your area of responsibility.  Requirements:
  • Must be able to manage system requirements and derived requirements to ensure the delivery of production systems compatible with defined architectures (DoDAF, SOA) and implement comprehensive SOA solutions, and must possess knowledge of current and evolving agency, national, and international standards applicable to system development.
  • Must have the ability to contribute to the development of systems engineering documentation, including System Engineering Plans, Initial Capabilities Documents, Requirements Specifications, and Interface Control Documents, while defining methods for verifying system compliance with requirements and assessing risks to the program.
  • Must be able to coordinate the resolution of action items from CCB meetings, design reviews, and program reviews, ensuring cross-discipline collaboration, and actively participate in Integrated Product Teams to design new capabilities based on operational considerations.
  • Must possess the ability to derive lower-level requirements from higher-level allocated requirements, ensuring they are complete, unique, unambiguous, realizable, and verifiable, while allocating real-time process and error budgets to system components. Must be able to develop derived requirements for Information Assurance Services.
  • Must have the ability to support the planning and test analysis of the DoD Certification/Accreditation Process and assist in the development and review of JCIDS documents (e.g., Initial Capability Document, Capabilities Description Document).
  • Must be able to provide technical direction for the development, engineering, interfacing, and testing of complex hardware/software systems, ensuring proper requirements elicitation, analysis, functional allocation, and conducting end-to-end flow analysis.
  • Must possess the ability to establish a formal procedure for managing changes to requirements, ensuring technical integrity of the system baseline throughout its lifecycle, and develop alternative courses of action, workarounds, and fallback positions for risk management.
  • Must have twenty (20) years of experience as a Systems Engineer (SE) in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity, along with demonstrated experience in planning and leading Systems Engineering efforts.
  • Must possess a Bachelor’s degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related discipline from an accredited college or university; five (5) years of additional SE experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph is required.
