Join our IT Foundation Services team as a System Engineer – OT Architecture (x|f|m).

In this role, you will contribute to the design, implementation and continuous improvement of secure and reliable OT infrastructure and network architectures that enable efficient and connected production environments. Working closely with interdisciplinary teams, you will help drive innovation, operational excellence and sustainable business value that supports better health for more people.

Based in Goettingen with the possibility to work some days in a week remotely.

• Develop holistic OT architecture concepts that support scalable, reliable and future-ready manufacturing environments
• Design and implement enterprise-wide infrastructure and network solutions for production systems, machines and buildings with a focus on performance, availability and security
• Create secure network architectures based on the IEC 62443 zones and conduits model to enable protected and efficient data communication
• Integrate IoT devices into existing production environments and ensure reliable connectivity and communication across systems
• Administer, maintain and continuously optimize OT systems while resolving complex incidents and supporting system lifecycle activities
• Implement security standards, policies and best practices to ensure compliance and protect manufacturing infrastructure
• Monitor system performance and identify opportunities to improve reliability, scalability and operational efficiency
• Collaborate with solution architects, engineering teams and business stakeholders to develop and implement innovative OT solutions
• Document system configurations, changes and operational activities in accordance with applicable policies and standards

What Will Convince Us

• Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a comparable qualification
• Professional experience in IT engineering, infrastructure operations or OT environments, ideally within manufacturing or industrial settings
• Experience designing, implementing and operating OT architectures and production-related infrastructure solutions
• Knowledge of production systems and technologies such as PLC, SCADA, MES, OPC UA and MQTT
• Strong understanding of network technologies including VRRP, WLAN, NAC, 802.1X, HSRP, MPLS, BGP and TCP/IP (IPv4/IPv6)
• Experience administering Microsoft and Linux server environments as well as virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V
• Knowledge of OT security principles and industry standards, ideally including IEC 62443
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical stakeholder groups
• Analytical mindset, attention to detail and a structured approach to problem solving
• Fluent English and German language skills
