Job Description

SCADA engineer, responsible for the preparation of the architecture of SCADA system, Works with Global stakeholders and 3rd party vendors to come up with the best system solution for PcVue SCADA in Metals/Test benches, Substation PcVue SCADA, SQL interface with Python, Excel based engineering tools (VBA Macros).

Essential Responsibilities

  • Min 2 to 3 Yrs of experience to Carry out SCADA Projects for any Domain.
  • Understanding Customer Requirements and design documents.
  • Support ongoing project with strict timelines as per company’s OTR process.
  • Actively engage with project teams to provide solutions for the project that technically fit the purpose.
  • Identify technical risks and put in place the mitigation plan for the same.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all company and customer’s EHS policies and procedures.
  • Identify and propose improvements in process, tools, system solutions and technologies, rolling out improvements when agreed with leadership team.
  • Foster relationship with other GE business entities to maximize the benefits of synergies.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Masters /Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Electrical/Electronics/Instrumentation engineering.

Technical Experience

Min 2 to 3 years of experience in the following

  • Significant Application development expertise in PcVue and Table Based Schedules
  • Hands on experience in System design – HMI server client configuration.
  • Report Generation Knowledge (Shift/Batch/Day) with Backend SQL and Python scripts.
  • Strong background in HMI application development. Experience in back-end scripting (VBA Scripting knowledge, C, C++ knowledge), Interface with database such as SQL, MS Access, Python etc.
  • Table based Schedule development and testing autonomously in any metal industry.
  • Demonstrated experience in the development and application of virtual machines in a Microsoft Windows operating environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in the HMI application development including cyber protection requirements.
  • Strong computer skills: experience in setting up Windows applications such as Windows 10 and above proficiency in standard MS Office applications.
  • Experience in web-based application development.
  • Experience in VBA macro files, able to work in excel based engineering tool development.
  • Experience in IOT/VM – ESXi.

Personal Qualities

  • Capable of Working in a multi-disciplined international team with good personal organisation skills.
  • Ability to Complete the Assigned projects to strict time scales.
  • Excellent communication and report writing skills.
  • French /German Language skills is desirable

Circumstances

  • Willing to travel on short notice within base country and overseas for short/long term assignments.
