Job Description

Role Purpose

To ensure that all dyehouse systems including sedomaster, colourstitch and dispensing are functioning well to support LpMpD and Colour Quality.

To train all users for operating well the dyehouse systems.

To liaise with suppliers, IT and Colour Systems Team to solve problems as they occur.

Main Duties

1. Safety and Housekeeping

Actively participate in H&S programs

  • Ensure all accidents/incidents and near miss are reported in a timely manner.
  • Actively look for areas where safety and housekeeping can be improved.
  • Demonstrate visible safety leadership through joining and doing regular safety talks and walks.

2. Handling system issues

  • Work with suppliers to fix periodic problems with the dyehouse systems.
  • Conduct basic training for supervisors/operators to fix common issues.
  • Work with IT to ensure networks are running correctly.

3. System maintenance

  • Work with Lawer, Datacolour and Sedomaster to implement preventative maintenance programmes for all dyehouse computer systems
  • Ensure all software is current.
  • Analyse systems and downtime to create action plans that minimise system downtime.
  • Work with maintenance to minimise controller failures.

4. Calibration

  • Ensure all systems are calibrated.
  • Work with maintenance to ensure correct calibration of dye machines

5. Dye profile programming

  • Ensure all dye machine programmes are entered correctly into Sedo Master.
  • Identify issues which can lead to poor dyehouse productivity and implement corrective and preventive actions.

6. Colour Quality and LpMpD Improvement

  • Ensure all TACs updated as planned and all recipes are pre-screened quickly and effectively in accordance with relevant SOPs to reduce leadtimes and increase colour quality.
  • Monitor and ensure colour passed within tolerance, and all colour related complaints are analysed deep dive and provide preventive actions accordingly.
  • Contribute to WFT analysis along with proposals for improvement
  • Analyse red tails and propose action plan for improving batch efficiency

Authorities

  • Ensure adherence to global dyeing profiles and dyehouse system related SOPs
  • Plan and implement the periodic system update, calibration, maintenance and troubleshooting measures
  • Stop any unsafe machines and activities
  • Approve annual leaves and absenteeism from the team

General Requirements

Education: Bachelor's degree in systems engineering, Information Technology or Industrial Engineering.

Skill:

  • Fluent in English
  • Understand well networks and interfaces in manufacturing
  • Strong data analysis skills for production optimization.
  • Problem-solving under tight production schedules.
  • Clear communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Project management to implement upgrades or migrations without disrupting workflows.
  • Experience of using SAP system
  • Good knowledge of dyeing machines and dyeing technology

Experience: 3–5 years as a System Engineer, preferably in textile or garment manufacturing.
