System Engineer – Automobile / Railway / Defense– M/F/X

We are looking for a System Engineer to support long-term projects across various industries including railway, automotive, and defense. Whether working on safety-critical signaling systems, advanced transmission technology, or complex defense retrofit programs, you will play a central role in bridging customer needs and technical solutions.
Your main responsibilities include:
•Analyzing customer requirements and translating them into structured system and sub-system specifications
•Defining architectures, interface requirements and technical documentation throughout the project lifecycle
•Contributing to system design and integration in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams (software, hardware, electronics, controls, validation)
•Ensuring requirement traceability using appropriate tools and MBSE methodologies
•Supporting integration, testing and validation activities — from laboratory environments to real-world conditions
•Investigating technical issues and providing corrective actions
•Acting as a technical focal point for assigned subsystems or workstreams
•Participating in technical reviews (design, documentation, validation)
•Working closely with RAM, Safety, Cybersecurity, V&V and domain-specific engineering teams
Consulting
You hold a Master's degree in Engineering (Electronics, Automation, Systems, Mechatronics, Computer Science or similar) and are drawn to complex, regulated, or safety-critical environments.
Must Have
•Strong analytical skills and ability to understand and decompose complex technical systems
•Experience or genuine interest in at least one of the following sectors: railway, automotive, defense, aerospace, or critical infrastructure
•Ability to translate customer needs into structured system requirements
•Fluency in English and French
•Rigorous, reliable, proactive mindset with strong communication skills
Nice to Have
•Experience with MBSE tools (Capella, Enterprise Architect, UML/SysML)
•Familiarity with requirements and traceability tools (DOORS, Polarion, JIRA or similar)
•Knowledge of domain-specific standards or frameworks (ERTMS/ETCS, IVVQ, DFMEA, network protocols)
•Exposure to RAMS, Safety, or Cybersecurity engineering
