Job Description

• Design, implement and validate the equipment control hardware and software for general industry automation systems, synchronous condensers and high current rectifier systems.
• Create and maintain Design documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
• Provide Technical interface to the customer and suppliers.
• Liaise with cross functional team, Sales, Project, Commissioning and Service teams.

Essential Responsibilities

  • 5 to 8 years of experience to carry out the engineering and software development for industry systems (like metals, mining, test bench), electrolyser applications, high current rectifier control systems.
  • Be part of a multi-disciplined project team, control system development and Validation for different domain projects.
  • Establish and maintain contract design documentation.
  • Improve the efficiency of the engineering process, through development and use of standard engineering solutions for projects.
  • Manage change using the engineering change control system.
  • Liaise with other company, customers, suppliers, and sub-contractors in order to support the Project execution.
  • Provide Technical advice and assistance to sales and tendering teams.
  • Adapt Project specific system controls for general industry automation system and high current rectifier application.
  • Comply with all company and customer health and safety regulations.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Masters /bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Electrical/Electronics/Instrumentation engineering
  • Minimum 5 Year hands on experience in engineering and commissioning of automation & control systems.
  • Experience in Processes like Steel manufacturing (Metals), Test benches, Mining, Rectifiers, Rotating Stabilisers (Synchronous Condensers), Electrolyser applications, High current rectifier control systems, Grid Automation etc.,
  • Autonomous hands-on experience in GE RXi, Beckhoff & Rockwell automation products (PLCs, I/O etc.,) for multiple applications.
  • Expertise in automation architectures, hardware engineering, I/O selection, instruments, component selection etc.,
  • Strong Programming knowledge in FBD, Ladder, Structured Text etc., in any industrial PLC system (especially in Beckhoff and Rockwell systems), HMI system – TwinCAT, Studio 5000.
  • Very good experience and knowledge in redundancy in PLC and SCADA systems.
  • Good knowledge in different industrial networks, managed and unmanaged switch settings, virtual networking, ring networking and hands on experience in implementing in Projects.
  • Good knowledge in cybersecurity and it’s implementation in industrial networking.
  • Expertise in various communication protocols like Profibus, Profinet, TCP/IP, EtherCAT, Modbus (TCP), IEC61850, SNMP, etc.,
  • Good experience in various field instruments and their interfaces + signal processing
  • Good experience in measurement systems, current transformers etc.,
  • Good experience in closed loop control systems.
  • Proficient in understanding of electrical schematics, SLD and it’s symbols.
  • Should be able to interpret Schematic, P&I & Plant Layout diagrams.
  • Capable of working as part of a multi-disciplined international team
  • Ability to multi-task on a variety of projects to strict time scales
  • Excellent communication skills and report writing skills.
  • Good interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Willing to travel within India and overseas for short term / Long-term working at customer sites / Regional units.
  • Work may include extended hours of working during the weekends / holidays, during critical times.

Desired Characteristics

  • Basic knowledge and experience in power electronics components, thyristor, IGBT, diode, Transformers, protection relays, Isolators etc.,
  • Experience in GE / Siemens / ABB etc., automation products (PLCs, I/O, HMI etc.,) for multiple applications.
  • Knowledge in SCADA/HMI (Rockwell Factory Talk, PcVue, Intouch etc.,) Systems for any Process Industries
  • Expertise in control system hardware engineering
  • Knowledge in Drives Engineering
  • Basic knowledge in power system components and substation equipment
  • Experience of system integration working on multi-discipline projects
  • Working in a multi-disciplined international team with good personal organisation skills.
  • Ability to multi-task on a variety of projects to strict time scales.
  • Excellent communication and report writing skills.
  • France /German Language skills
