Interface Manager

The position is based in Manila for NSRC stage 1.

Accountabilities

  • Identify, define, control and manage system interfaces
  • Lead technical interface meetings and reporting about interface management
  • Lead interface discussions with technical teams and customer
  • Acquire deep understanding of subsystems provided by external suppliers and ensure compatibility at system level
  • Support System Integration Manager in technical decisions
  • Active participation in optimal overall project technical solution
  • Support Customer design review and internal design reviews
  • Support lab, factory, and field testing
  • Ensure compliance with company processes
  • Understands and integrates applicable CMMI, CENELEC, AREMA, IEEE, IPC, etc standards.
  • Coordination of interfaces among contactors, between HSTS contract systems and external contractors (external interfaces) and among HSTS contract subsystems (internal interfaces), resolution in design, implementation and testing during commissioning phases, in order to secure that the expected functionalities are achieved.

The main methods and tools in managing interfaces are:

Other main activities related to Interface Management are the following:

  • Monitor and assess progress of all Project Interface Works and Report progress / issues to the Employer.
  • Provide updates of External Interface Matrices
  • Internal Interfaces management (review, update data base, closing)
  • External Interfaces management (review, update data base, closing)
  • Transfer requirements to subsystems.
  • subsystems provide evidences of compliance
  • Resolution of each pending issue regarding the interface,
  • Review of evidences
  • Update Interface Register

Required Skills/Knowledge

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in System Engineering and Interface Management
  • Ability to acquire deep understanding of new technologies with minimal guidance
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas to peers, management, and customers in a simplified manner
  • Strong technical troubleshooting and problem solving abilities
  • Prior experience applying fundamental Systems Engineering concepts:
  • V-lifecycle,
  • System Architecture
  • Requirements Management,
  • Configuration Management,
  • Interface Management,
  • Understanding and/or prior experience with engineering lifecycles, delivery, and HW/SW integration lifecycle
  • Competency in interactions between mechanical, electrical, and software components in complex electromechanical systems
  • experience with Microsoft Office suite, requirements management systems, product lifecycle management systems, defect tracking tools, and software configuration tools
  • Competency in use DOORS tool
  • Success with multi-tasking across multiple projects at given time
  • Builds effective relationships and has exceptional communication and leadership skills
  • Detail oriented with organizational skills
  • Prefer rail or rail transit domain experience, but not required
  • Ability to lead, engage, and manage tasking of cross-functional teams of varying skills/experience
  • Prior experience collaborating with a diverse, cross-functional team across multiple geographic locations.
