Do you have a background as a software engineer? Join us! We are now hiring two System Development Specialists to join our team in Västerås (Finnslätten), Sweden.

The team is responsible for developing and maintaining Hitachi Energy’s Manufacturing Execution System (MES), as well as modernizing the tech stack with REST APIs, Blazor, improved access control and governance, and fully implemented CI/CD pipelines. As part of our team, you’ll contribute across infrastructure, deployment, testing, and full‑stack development, and play a key role in rebuilding a high‑impact system used daily across our manufacturing environment.

You’ll be part of a skilled, collaborative, and forward‑thinking team that owns and evolves one of the most important systems in Hitachi Energy’s manufacturing landscape. How you’ll make an impact

  • Analyze business and technical requirements to design and implement software solutions
  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle from design to deployment and maintenance
  • Develop and maintain .NET applications (desktop and web) using C#
  • Design, build, and document RESTful Web APIs
  • Collaborate with team members and cross‑functional stakeholders, driving initiatives end‑to‑end
  • Support operators, factory staff, and warehouse personnel using the MES
  • Work with Git repositories and CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps
  • Write and maintain unit tests and contribute to automation initiatives
  • Participate in migrating the MES to a new generation tech stack, and bring ideas to shape its future evolution

Your background

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in software development with C# and .NET is required in this position
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with hands‑on experience building REST Web APIs and working with modern HTML/CSS‑based front‑end frameworks is required
  • Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps preferred) is required
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Visual Studio and SQL Server Management Studio is advantageous
  • Solid understanding of relational database design, SQL schemas, querying, and performance optimization
  • Experience developing and maintaining web applications (desktop application experience is a plus)
  • Experience with service‑oriented architecture and basic DevOps or deployment automation (preferred)
  • Interest in cyber and information security, including access control
  • Experience with unit testing and contributing to automation initiatives
