Job Description

The Division

The Group Digital Capabilities (GDC) division ensures Euroclear’s competitiveness by delivering reliable and sustainable IT solutions for the financial securities markets.

The Tribe

The CO (Customer Onboarding) tribe contributes to the division strategy by delivering and supporting, through agile practices, cost-effective, time-to-market solutions for the digital customer experience domain. The domain covers the various areas of the customer onboarding journey.

Role purpose

Provide architectural stewardship for the systems supporting KYC, Parties and Subscriptions, ensuring the landscape remains coherent, resilient and maintainable as it evolves within the agreed enterprise and domain architecture direction.

Key responsibilities

  • Maintain a clear architectural view of the systems supporting KYC, Parties and Subscriptions, including their capabilities, data, integrations, dependencies and operational constraints.
  • Define and maintain system architecture principles, guardrails and the direction for the evolution of the landscape within agreed enterprise and domain architecture standards.
  • Review proposed designs to assess alignment with the system architecture, integration impacts, data flows, resilience, security and maintainability.
  • Identify cross-system dependencies, impacts and constraints, ensuring they are understood and addressed across the relevant squads and initiatives.
  • Provide system-level guidance and constructive challenge during discovery, design and delivery, informed by the business and operational context of the domains.
  • Maintain architecture decision records and ensure important technical trade-offs, assumptions and constraints remain visible.
  • Work with application, product and engineering ownership to manage technical debt, lifecycle considerations and the controlled evolution of the system landscape.
  • Represent the system landscape in relevant architecture and governance discussions.

Experience and knowledge

  • Demonstrable system architecture experience in a complex, integrated application landscape.
  • Strong understanding of integration, data and distributed-system design.
  • Experience in architecture governance, design assurance and maintaining architectural decisions over time.
  • Experience working across multiple product or delivery squads and assessing impacts across shared systems.
  • Relevant domain knowledge across KYC, client onboarding, Parties, subscriptions or client and reference data within financial services.

Profile

  • Strong systems thinking, technical judgement and understanding of how business, data and operational constraints shape the system landscape.
  • Able to simplify complex architecture issues for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Collaborative while able to provide clear system-level direction and constructive challenge.
  • Focused on the pragmatic, sustainable evolution of the systems rather than architecture in isolation.

Soft Skills

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including verbal and written communication and active listening.
  • Strong spoken English skills are required.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical and critical-thinking skills, alongside influencing, presentation and time-management skills.
  • Excellent documentation and presentation skills.
  • Creative, adaptable and willing to continuously improve delivery and development processes.
  • Able to work independently and proactively learn, including building a business network and asking questions.

We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and experiences. If you meet most of the requirements and are excited about the role, we encourage you to apply.
