Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your systems engineering expertise in a cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside dedicated, innovative, and collaborative teammates.

You’ll specifically take care of creating system-level documents such as signalling scheme plans and operational specifications, but also contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

We’ll look to you for:

  • Collaborating with the Requirement Manager and Project Architect to allocate technical requirements to system application design

  • Adhering to signalling design principles and project schedules, while following engineering and configuration management plans

  • Conducting kick-off meetings with design teams to define scope and delivery timelines

  • Ensuring system requirement traceability using Requirement Management Tools like DOORS

  • Delivering project system-level documents and application deliverables (e.g., scheme plans, signalling rules, system parameters, and review reports)

  • Analyzing and responding to reports/comments from Testing & Commissioning, Verification & Validation, and customers

  • Preparing project training materials on system functions, architecture, and design details

  • Promoting and practicing Alstom's Code of Ethics and maintaining the highest standards of ethical conduct

We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:

  • Degree or diploma in Engineering (Electronics and Electrical, Instrumentation, Electronics and Communication, or a relevant field)

  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in the railway signalling domain

  • Knowledge of railway safety standards

  • Experience or understanding of signalling subsystems such as train control systems, wayside interlocking, or supervision systems

  • Familiarity with signalling design, installation, testing, and commissioning

  • Proficiency in software tools like VBA, CAD, Visio, MS Office, and Excel

  • Strong writing skills with clarity, rigor, and concision

  • Ability to adhere to engineering planning and deliverables

  • Competence in analyzing technical queries and collaborating effectively across teams

Things you’ll enjoy Join us on a life-long transformative journey – the rail industry is here to stay, so you can grow and develop new skills and experiences throughout your career. You’ll also:

  • Enjoy stability, challenges, and a long-term career free from boring daily routines

  • Work with new security standards for rail signalling

  • Collaborate with transverse teams and helpful colleagues

  • Contribute to innovative projects

  • Utilize our flexible and inclusive working environment

  • Steer your career in whatever direction you choose across functions and countries

  • Progress towards leadership roles or specialized technical positions

  • Benefit from a fair and dynamic reward package that recognizes your performance and potential, plus comprehensive and competitive social coverage (life, medical, pension)

You don’t need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us. We guarantee that when you step onto one of our trains with your friends or family, you’ll be proud. If you’re up for the challenge, we’d love to hear from you!
