Our core business, producing plastic resins and petrochemicals, takes place at three wholly-owned chemical manufacturing subsidiaries located in Delaware City, Delaware, Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Point Comfort, Texas.
SYSTEM ANALYST
POSITION OBJECTIVE
The Management Center's Accounting and Personnel System team is seeking a System Analyst to support the continued evolution of our enterprise Human Resources, Payroll, and Accounting systems. This role is primarily responsible for maintaining and enhancing the organization's HR/Payroll applications, ensuring the integrity, reliability, and security of employee and payroll data while supporting key HR business processes. The position will also provide support for IBM AS/400 ERP Accounting systems as needed, working closely with stakeholders to ensure stable and efficient business operations.
As a key liaison between business users and development teams, you will partner closely with Human Resources, Payroll, Accounting, Business Analysts, and end users to understand operational and technical needs, analyze business requirements, and design technology solutions that improve efficiency, strengthen compliance, and enhance the employee experience. You will also contribute to application modernization initiatives, including the transformation of legacy AS/400 systems to .NET and SQL Server platforms, helping modernize enterprise HR and Accounting applications, improve system capabilities, and support the organization's long-term digital transformation strategy.
MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY
1. Collaborate with Business Analysts and end users to gather, analyze, and validate business requirements, translating them into effective technical solutions.
2. Maintain, support, and enhance HR/Payroll and Accounting ERP systems, including database design and administration, while ensuring compliance with security, authorization, and data privacy standards.
3. Develop, optimize, and maintain SQL queries and AS/400 applications using technologies such as CLP, RPG, WebSmart, and Synon.
4. Troubleshoot, test, deploy, and support applications across multiple environments, identifying and resolving issues related to system design, software defects, data integrity, and business processes.
5. Monitor system performance and exception reports, proactively identifying abnormalities and escalating critical issues to management for timely resolution.
6. Perform and support ERP modernization initiatives, including the migration, testing, and implementation of legacy IBM AS/400 ERP applications into modern web-based platforms.
7. Identify opportunities for process improvement, system enhancements, and tooling upgrades to improve scalability, efficiency, reliability, and overall system quality.
8. Provide technical support and user training, ensuring prompt resolution of user issues and effective adoption of system enhancements.
9. Write and maintain clear technical documentation and system specifications to support knowledge sharing and ongoing system maintenance.
10. Review and prioritize work requests, accordingly, participate actively in team meetings and project discussions, and deliver assigned projects and operational tasks in accordance with established SOPs.
11. Participate in an on-call support and respond to after-hours production issues to maintain business continuity and system availability.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Bachelor’s degree (4-year college degree) from an accredited institution).
2. Degree in Management Information Systems (MIS), Computer Science, Supply Chain Management, or a related technical/analytical field. An advanced degree is a plus.
3. 1–3 years of experience in system analysis and system design.
4. Prior experience or a strong background in purchasing, procurement, or material management systems is highly preferred.
5. Has completed major projects that demonstrate the ability to independently drive projects from beginning to completion with measurable results (Ex: Reduced system run-time, boost system efficiency by redesigning system and data flow, etc.).
6. Robust capabilities in system analysis and system design (such as database schema design, ER diagram analysis).
7. Strong programming skills in languages (such as RPG, SQL, Java, Python, C#, Go, or Node.js) paired with solid database experience.
8. System QA/QC testing.
9. MS Office software skills.
10. Knowledge and experience in Snowflake, Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, Amazon Redshift, etc..
